Sound:The three sound aspects that I picked up in the analysis all fit the genre well and target the audience effectively. This is evident when looking at the diegetic sound/dialogue 'why do I and everyone I love pick people who treat us like we're nothing." and the soundtrack used in the teaser trailer is the instrumental version of 'Imagine Dragons- It's time'. The diegetic sound/dialogue connotes the importance of establishing relationships in teaser trailers, especially as it is from the drama genre. Moreover the soundtrack attracts a young adult audience as Imagine Dragons are an up-and-coming global sensation hence younger audiences can identify with the trailer better. However, as much as this is a good selling point, I will not be able to use this in my own trailer as I will not be able to obtain the rights to use well known songs.

Titles:Due to the extremely short length of this trailer, it is understandable that titles are at a minimum. But, like the Hunger Games, it relies on the popularity of the books to attract a mass audience which is evident with the 'Based on the critically acclaimed author' title. As my product isn't based on a book, I cannot translate this into my own work.

Camera work:Again due to the length of the trailer being so short, the range of camera angles seem too fast for the variation there is.Yet some camera angles are used to display relationships, especially the medium shots which shows emotion and body language of characters. This is very relevant in a drama and is something I could take note of in producing my own teaser trailer as relationships are crucial and conventional to display clearly in dramas.

Editing:This teaser trailer is very 'flowy' as there are no straight cuts and only fade/dissolve transitions. In the drama genre this is conventional as it gives a softer feel to the media being displayed. This is relevant to my text given that it has the sub-genre of drama and will be essential if I want to convey the raw emotional side clearly and effectively.

ConclusionAs this teaser trailer is based on a very famous book, like The Hunger Games, it's main target audience is the fans who will understand the storyline hence the very short length of the teaser trailer. However this teaser trailer is very unconventional length wise anyway therefore I will not use the same structure. But, as my target audience is the same and it is a drama (one of the sub genres of my teaser trailer), I will consider certain aspects. The soft transitions used in the editing will be important for the beginning part of my trailer to emphasise the genre and I will most likely use a soundtrack or non-diegetic music that represents the mood of the events being shown.

Sound:After analysing the trailer I can see that diegetic sound is hardly used and non-diegetic sound is mostly used to create an emotional atmosphere. This can be seen with the use of the piano soundtrack and soft cymbals sound effect. These not only cater to the genre of being a drama, but also have a convey a calmer more emotionally dramatic effect which suits the target audience of older/middle aged people. Moreover the camera shutter sound effects/diegetic sounds link with the theme of fame in the film and establish it further in the teaser trailer.

Titles:Few titles feature in the teaser trailer and are very simplistic in how they are displayed. Liking on from my previous point, Diana was a very publicised person therefore the need for titles to explain part of the storyline isn't as important as people will already know most of her story. Focusing on the simplistic display of the titles; I think this would be useful in my own trailer as it will be a drama/thriller therefore not too much dramatic emphasis should be used compared to other genres such as horror, action and sci-fi.

Camera work:Distance shots are mostly used in the teaser trailer to add a sense of mystery which is evident with the recurring medium and long shots. This is most likely because the topic of the film revolves around Princess Diana who was so highly publicised that most of the public knew everything about her life, thus more distance shots are used to add to the anticipation of finding out something unknown about the famous figure. Long shots and medium shots will need to be used in my teaser trailer but mostly to introduce scenes and characters as there will be no famous icons in my product.

Editing:The editing in the Diana teaser trailer gives a very soft continuity effect which is seen through the frequent use of fade in/out transitions in comparison to the amount of straight cuts used. The fade in/out transitions gives a more 'flowy' feel to the trailer and also seems to target a more feminine audience who are more emotionally driven.

ConclusionThe trailer definitely conveys the idea that a more mature audience is intended to watch it and it has a much calmer aura about it therefore the teaser trailer isn't as relevant as my audience will be young adults and there will be a more dramatic element in the teaser trailer due to the topic and themes I plan to include. However as my target audience will be girls and one of the sub genres of my teaser trailer is drama, it is beneficial to consider some elements. For the first half of my product I want to focus more on the drama genre compared to the thriller therefore softer transitions such as fades and dissolves should be used to compensate for the genre and my target audience. Also I am intrigued to find a sound effect to link with the theme of internet safety like the camera shutters link to the theme of fame in Diana.
