Perimeter edge flashing is a crucial element for your home’s roof system because it sheds water away from the roof edge. In addition, it keeps the elements from entering into your home at the point of separation where the roof deck, fascia and truss meet.
Aluminum and Steel drip edge, available in several styles, come standard in the Integra Roof System. PreNotched for a better fit, tighter seams and easy alignment saves on installation time! All styles are available in colors that match the w-valley, step flashing and gutter protection.

Quality Edge Shingle Starter saves time & ensures a clean look.
Conventional Way to Start
Shingles
Quality Edge shingle starter is an innovative, time-sav-ing concept in the application of traditional, shingled roofs. It eliminates the need to cut shingle tabs as the starter course. Simply unroll and press the self-adhe-sive shingle starter at the roof edge, position, and nail the first course of shingles over the shingle starter; they will aggressively adhere to the seal tab in order to prevent any wind uplift.

Ice and water shieldIce and water shield Ice and water shieldStandard Felt Synthetic Felt
Standard Felt is also known in the contracting industry as roof paper or tar paper and is soaked in a petrol-based chemical that’s been interwoven with asphalt-coated organic fibers. This makes roofing felt extremely sticky to work with but overall slippery to walk on, a hazard when walking across the pitch of a roof. Unlike synthetic underlay, roof felt is also more flammable by comparison.
Synthetic Underlayment gains its name because unlike felt, which uses partially organic fibers, underlay is 100 percent manufactured from polypropylene fibers interlaced with polymer. These fibers bend and twist extraordinarily well around corners and crevices without ripping or tearing, two common complaints about felt paper.
r o o ffelt
When asphalt shingles are bent at a 90º angle the material is compromised, decreasing the lifespan of the valley area. Steel W-Valleys are the best option to achieving a long-lasting roof.

Integra w-valleys by QE manage the flow of water on your roof and, nine out of ten roofers agree, are the areas most susceptible to leaks.
Integra’s w-valley performs better and lasts longer than other conven-tional types of valleys. Woven, closed or open valleys slow the water flow, which means water stays on the roof longer and causes shingles to wear faster. Also, shingled valleys tend to collect debris.
The Integra w-valley is made from high performance, extra strength 28-gauge galvanized steel. It’s available in a range of colors that coordinate with your shingles. Integra w-valley conducts water away from the shingles and down into the gutters smoother and quicker than any other valley available.

According to the EPA you should
“Install step flashing at all roof/wall intersections...” Sections 1.7 - 1.10: Water-Managed Roof Assemblies
1.8 Fully Flash Roof-Wall Intersectionshttp://www.epa.gov/indoorairplus/technical/moisture/1_8.html
Another area of your roof that’s vulnerable to leakage is the line where the roof and side wall abut. While not as vulnerable as the valley this area, it too calls for added protection.
QE’s Integra step flashing provides a layer of protection between the wall’s siding or brick and the roof’s sheeting – preventing the water from flowing back into the wall where it can cause mold or wood rot.
Step flashing is available in many sizes in the Integra Roof System, all of which are available in colors that match the perimeter edge flashing, w-valley and gutter protection.

Poor Attic Ventilation Can Cost You as much as $7,980 over only 15 years.
Attic Ventilation 101Continuously vented soffit ventilates your attic from end to end. Cool, dry air is drawn in at the soffit replacing the hot, moist air that’s in your attic.
Soffit Intake
Ridge Vent Exhaust
Continuous ridge vents ventilate your attic from end to end. Cool, dry air that is drawn in at the soffit replaces the hot, moist air that rises to the ridge and leaves through the ridge vents.
According to the Department of Energy you can lower the temperature in your attic by as much as 50 degrees if you have more air intake at the soffit than on your roof; reducing energy costs and helping to improve indoor air quality.
For more information on how to make sure your homes soffit provides enough intake (NFA) to work with your homes roof ventilation system log on to www.qualityedge.com/ridge-vents

Eliminate clogged gutters which create a breeding ground for insects and foundation damage.
The roof directs water into the gutters. Without free-flowing gutters and downspouts, water can collect and create problems. That’s why Integra Gutter Protection is an important part of the Integra Roofing System.
Integra Gutter Protection attaches to the fascia – not to the roof – with patented fasteners. It strengthens your existing gutters.
Integra’s patented nose-forward design means that only water can get in – leaves, pine nee-dles and debris are kept out – assuring the free flow of water from the roof to the ground.
Integra Gutter Protection is made from a high performance alloy and is available in colors that match the perimeter edge flashing, w-valley and step flashing.

From rustic and rugged to clean and contemporary, standing seam metal roofing functions as a striking major design element on a home’s exterior.
®
Standing Seam: The Ultimate AccentStanding seam metal roofing – a classic roofing choice since at least the 16th century. Even today, many buildings survive from a time when carefully wrought metal was reserved for only the most exceptional palaces and cathedrals.
With standing seams running vertically from the peak to eave, the distinctive look of standing seam metal offers design choices like no other. From rustic and rugged to clean and contemporary, standing seam metal roofing functions as a striking major design element on a home’s exterior.
An enduring standing seam metal roof is also the sustainable choice. With its recycled content, long life, and 100% recy-clability, standing seam metal roofing contributes to the health of our green planet.
