INFORMATION SESSION
Co-Chairs: Bryn Ferguson and Marie-Louise Wiegert
The countdown has begun to September’s summit on the Sustainable Development Goals, with national governments discussing 17 goals that could transform the world by 2030.
Ideas for Action is a Knowledge PlatformI4A is a platform connecting individuals all around the world who have valuable thoughts and ideas about the SDGs, the Post-2015 Development Agenda, and other topics related to the future development of our world.
The competition acts as a catalyst to spark global conversation among young people all around the world and seeks to encourage youths to contribute their own voice to the conversation.

Global Classroom
An online platform that will allow prospective participants to:• Research topics such as the
SDGs and development financing strategies
• Review previous proposals• Become part of a global
community of young people invested in international development
Project IncubatorMarketing & Social Media
Our Goal: To accompany participants along their entire I4A journey, from inception to implementation.
Student groups will support select I4A teams in implementing their ideas. Potential projects can include:• Business plan writing,
investor outreach, marketing, programming, technology solutions, etc.
Support of the I4A website, blog, and social media platforms to build a powerful web presence and establish I4A as a global thought leader:• Tech design, studying
international news related to international development, social media post creation, blog writing, photography
1. Global Classroom• Goal: To design and deliver an innovative and collaborative learning experience
in preparation for the next Ideas for Action competition.• Project scope:
– Build an online learning and exchange platform– Assemble content modules and promote meaningful discourse around
these topics– Manage video conferences with speakers, break-out sessions, etc.– Establish partnerships with universities and business schools around the
world to encourage the formation of both global and regional communities• Skills required:
– Passion for international development– Creativity and an instinct for engaging and inspiring an audience– Programming experience is a big plus
2. Project Incubator• Goal: To maximize the full potential of Ideas for Action by supporting
leading teams in putting their ideas into practice.• Project scope:
– Tailored to the individual needs of the I4A teams– Business plan and proposal writing, outreach to potential partners
and investors, marketing, programming, technology solutions, etc.• Skills required:
– Entrepreneurial attitude and resourcefulness– Excellent problem-solving skills– Consulting or social entrepreneurship experience is a plus
3. Outreach & Social MediaGoal: Support the I4A website, blog, and social media platforms to build a powerful web presence and establish I4A as a global thought leader.• Project scope:
– Update the I4A website and blog– Update the Facebook page and Twitter page daily– Establish new methods of advertising– Reach out to corporate sponsers
• Skills required:– Entrepreneurial attitude and resourcefulness– Creative thinking– Previous experience in social media, marketing, blog writing is a bonus
Open Leadership Positions• Global Classroom Leader: 2-3 members• Incubator: Project Leaders: up to 10 members• Social Media and Marketing: 1 member
• Board positions:– VP of Finance– VP of Communications– VP of Partnerships
