ENGINEERING CONTROLS STATEMENTSWhen handlers use closed systems, enclosed cabs, or aircraft in a manner that meets the requirements listed in the Worker Protection Standard (WPS) for agricultural pesticides [40 CFR170.240(d)(4–6)],thehandlerPPErequirementsmaybereducedormodifiedasspecifiedintheWPS.

AGRICULTURAL USE REQUIREMENTSUsethisproduceonlyinaccordancewithitslabelingandwiththeWorkerProtectionStandard,40CFRPart170.ThisStandardcontainsrequirementsfortheprotectionofagri-cultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, and greenhouses, and handlers of agricultural pesticides . PRODUCT INFORMATIONSHADOW3ECHerbicideisaselectivepostemergenceherbicideforcontrolofannualandperennialgrasses.SHADOW3ECHerbicidedoesnotcontrolsedgesorbroadleafweeds.SHADOW3ECHerbicideisasystemicherbicidewhichistranslocatedfromthetreatedfoliagetothegrowingpointsoftheleaves,shootsandroots.Uptakeintotheplantisprimarilythroughitsleaves.Thoroughcoverageofthefoliageisimportantforconsistentgrasscontrol.Thetreatedgrassweedsshowareductioninvigorandgrowth.Earlychlorosis/necrosisofyoungerplanttissueisfollowedbyaprogressivecollapseoftheremainingfoliage.Dependingongrassspeciestreatedandenvironmentalconditions,symptomswillgenerallybeobservedin7to14daysafterapplication.Avoidcontactofthisproductwithdesirablegrasscrops,suchascorn,rice,sorghum,smallgrains,orturfastheseandothergrasscrops will be injured or killed .

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENTForresistancemanagement,SHADOW3ECHerbicideisaWeedScienceSocietyofAmericaGroup1HerbicidelistedundertheHerbicideResistantActionCommittee(HRAC).AnyweedpopulationmaycontainordevelopplantsnaturallyresistanttoSHADOW3ECHerbicideandotherGroup1Herbicides.Theresistantbiotypesmaydominatetheweedpopulationiftheseherbicidesareusedrepeatedlyinthesamefield.Wherepossible,rotatetheuseofSHADOW3ECHerbicidewithherbicidesthathaveadifferentmodeofaction.Otherresistancemechanismsthatarenotlinkedtositeofaction,butspecificforindividualchemicals,suchasenhancedmetabolism,mayalsoexist.Ifpoorperformanceoccursandcannotbeattributedtoadverseweatherorapplicationconditions,aresistantbiotypemaybepresent.TheuseofSHADOW3ECHerbicideshouldconformtoresistancemanagementstrategiesestablishedfortheusearea.Consultyouragriculturaladvisorforresistancemanagementstrategies and recommended pest management practices for your area . Appropriate resistance-management strategies should be followed .

SHADOW3ECHerbicidetospecialtyvarietiesofvegetablecropsonthislabel,itisadvisedthatcroptolerancebeinvestigatedfirstusingasmallsectionofthefield.Itispossiblethat injury symptoms can occur . Symptoms may appear as leaf speckling or stunting .

• Grasscropssuchascorn,rice,sorghum,smallgrains,orturf,etc.arehighlysensitivetoSHADOW3ECHerbicide.• Optimalperennialgrasscontrolcanbeobtainedifrhizomesorstolonsarecutupbypreplanttillagepractices(disking,plowing,etc.)tostimulatemaximumemergenceofgrass

shoots.Culturalpractices,suchascontinuousno-tillageinwhichtheperennialgrassrhizomesorstolonsarenotcutup,resultinaverystaggered,non-uniformweedemergence.Nofewerthantwo(2)SHADOW3ECHerbicideapplicationsperseasonperyeararerecommendedattheappropriateweed-growthstagerateundercontinuousno-tillconditions,due to this non-uniform weed emergence .

• TankmixesofSHADOW3ECHerbicideandbroadleafherbicidesmayresultinreducedgrasscontrol.Ifgrassregrowthoccurs,anadditionalapplicationofthisproductmaybenecessary .

RESTRICTIONS• Donotplantanycropfor30daysafterapplicationunlessSHADOW3ECHerbicideisregisteredforuseonthatcrop.• Donotapplyifrainisexpectedwithin1hourofapplication,ascontrolmaybeunsatisfactory.• ApplicationinNassauandSuffolkCountiesofNewYorkStateisrestrictedtonomorethan10.67flozofSHADOW3ECHerbicide(0.25lbai)peracreperseason.• Donotapplyunderconditionsofstress.ApplyingSHADOW3ECHerbicideunderconditionsthatdonotpromoteactivegrassgrowthwillreduceherbicideeffectiveness.These

conditions include,drought,excessivewater, lowhumidityandextremes in temperature,andgrasseseitherpartiallycontrolledorstunted frompriorpesticideapplications.GrassesunderthesekindsofstressfulconditionswillnotabsorbandtranslocateSHADOW3ECHerbicideeffectively,andwillbelesssusceptibletoherbicideactivity.

• DonotapplyapostemergencebroadleafherbicidewithinonedayfollowingapplicationofSHADOW3ECHerbicideorreducedgrasscontrolmayresult.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS1.Fillcleanspraytank1⁄2 to 2⁄3ofdesiredlevelwithcleanwater.Whileagitating,addthecorrectamountofSHADOW3ECHerbicide,makingsurethatagitationmakesaripplingor

rolling action on the water surface .

2 . When tank mixing this product with other labeled herbicides, add water-soluble bags first, followed by dry formulations, flowables, emulsifiable concentrates and then solutions . Prepare no more spray mixture than is required for the immediate spray operation .

3.Addanyrequiredadjuvants(cropoilconcentrate,nonionicsurfactantand/ornitrogensolution).4.Fillspraytanktodesiredlevelwithwater.Continue agitation until all spray solution has been applied.Failuretoagitatethespraysolutionmayresultinimpropermixingoftheherbicidesandunsatisfactoryweedcontrol.Verifymixingandcompatibilityqualitiesbyconductingajartest.

APPLICATION INFORMATIONMakeapplicationsofSHADOW3ECHerbicidepostemergencetoactivelygrowinggrassesaccordingtotheratetablerecommendations.Applicationstograssplantsexceedingrecommended growth stages could result in unsatisfactory control . Whenirrigationisusedtosupplementlimitedrainfallinaridregions,applySHADOW3ECHerbicideassoonaspossible,afteranirrigation(within7days).Asecondapplicationofthisproductwillgenerallyprovidemoreeffectivecontrolofperennialgrassweedthanasingleapplicationinaridregions.Applyasecondapplicationtoactivelygrowinggrass2to3 weeks after emergence of new growth .Cultivationoftreatedgrasses7dayspriortoorwithin7daysafterapplicationofthisproductcouldreduceweedcontrol.

GROUND APPLICATIONToensurecompletecoverage,itisessentialtousesufficientsprayvolumesandpressure.Useaminimumof5gallonsandamaximumof40gallonsofspraysolutionperacre.Tengallonsperacrecanimprovegrasscontrolundercertainconditionssuchas:ultranarrowrowcotton,narrowrowsoybeans,broadleafherbicidetankmixes,perennialgrasses,volunteercorn,droughtorstressconditions,heavygrasspressureorwhengrassesareatornearmaximumheight.Setspraypressurestoreflectaminimumof30psiandamaximumof60psiatthenozzle.Donotusefloodnozzles.

Spot TreatmentMix 1⁄3% to 2⁄3%(0.44ozto0.85ozpergal)productwhenusinghandsprayersorhighvolumesprayersutilizinghandguns.Whilenotallowingrunoffofspraysolution,applytowetvegetation.NOTE:IfSHADOW3ECHerbicideisappliedasaspottreatment,donotexceedthemaximumrateallowedona“peracre”basisorcropinjurycouldoccur.CaremustbetakenwhenSHADOW3ECHerbicideisappliedasaspottreatmenttoonions,garlic,shallots,ornon-bearingfoodcropsorcropinjurycouldoccur.

AERIAL APPLICATIONUseaminimumof3gallonsofspraysolutionperacreunlessotherwisedirectedinthislabel.Ifgrassorcropfoliagebecomesdense,increasesprayvolumesupto10gallon.Foronions(drybulbs),garlicorshallots(drybulbs):donotexceed5.33floz/Ainasingleapplicationwhenapplyingbyair.Donotexceed2applicationsperseasonongarlicandshallot .
