Peartree Spring Primary School Newsleer — 15/03/2019 Comic Relief 2019 (Red Nose Day) - Well done to all the children and staff who took part in this event by wearing noses and/or having wacky hair. We still have a few noses for sale in the school office at the cost of £1.25 each. Online Safety - Education Child Protection will be visiting our school on Tuesday 19th March to provide workshops for the children on how to ‘keep safe’ in respect of ‘Online Safety’. These workshops will help educate the children to develop resiliency in response to the challenges they may face online. We would also like to invite Parents/Carers to attend an evening presentation on this day from 6 -7pm in the School Hall. Doors open at 5:45pm – entry via the walkway. Please note this presentation is for adults ONLY. Marie Curie (Daffodil Appeal) - A reminder that children are able to purchase a daffodil for a minimum donation of £1.00 in aid of Marie Curie nurses. The last day for donations will be Friday 29th March. Science and Technology Week - Thank you to all the parents and children who attended our Science and Technology evening on Thursday and for all the positive comments/feedback. A fun time was had by all and special thanks go to Miss Ratty and staff for organising the event. Reception WOW day - Well done to the Reception children and staff who dressed as a Prince or Princess for the Fairy Tale Ball on Wednesday. Parents are able to watch the video of the event on Thursday 21st March during the morning workshop which runs from 8.50am to 9.15am. Bicycles/scooters - For Health & Safety purposes, please ensure your child/ren DO NOT ride their bicycles/scooters on school grounds. Parent Consultations - A reminder that these are being held on Tuesday 26th March and Thursday 28th March. Please remember to book your preferred date and time via this website: https://peartreespring.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/ . The online system will be open from Monday 18th March to Friday 22nd March. Only the front pedestrian gates will be open to the school. Mother’s Day Fayre - (Friends of Peartree) - Children will be able to choose a gift for someone special, wrap and label it during the school day on Friday 29th March. A flyer with further details was emailed to parents on Wednesday. Please remember to book via Schoolgateway. Thank you. Eco Week - The week commencing Monday 18th March is Eco Week - children will be focusing on Biodiversity and taking part in various activities throughout the week. They will looking at making bird feeders, planting, building a mini Eco System as well as other activities. After School Clubs - A reminder that teacher led After School Club finish on the week ending Friday 22nd March. A letter will be sent to parents in April 2019 regarding clubs for the Summer Term. Premier Sports After School Clubs will finish the week ending 5th April 2019. Garden House Hospice Non-Uniform Day - This is being held on Friday 22nd March. Please see separate flyer for further details. W/c 18th March 2019 is Lunch Week 1 of the menu The lunch menu is available to peruse on our school website. The cost of a school meal is £2.40 per day, £12.00 per week. Meals must be paid for in advance via schoogateway.com. Please note - Week 1 green option will be Pizza and NOT Pizza Wrap as indicated on the menu. REMINDER - Due to some of our children having severe nut allergies, please do not put items in your child’s packed lunch box that contains nuts. PE Noticeboard Quicks Sticks Hockey - Well done to the Quick Sticks Hockey children who came 4th in their group and 7th overall. They played amazingly well, won 3 of their games and showed a strong sporting spirit.
