There is no better placeto watch a sunset or siton the deck next to the

river on a Sunday eve-ning than at Port Clin-ton Yacht Club. After abusy weekend, the lakealways seems to calmdown and creates avery relaxing evening.

June at the clubwas packed with activ-ity. This included ourpopular Friday NightSnacks, the enjoyableSaturday morningBloody Mary Socials, weddings, graduations, sailboat races, sailinglessons, cruise out, pool, tennis, shuffleboard and beach ac-tivities. Dennis Laddcompleted numerousboat inspections thefirst week in June andfound the Port Clinton

Yacht Club boats to beoverall very well pre-pared for safe boating.I concluded Juneshowing my daughtersexactly where the Cribis located off PCYC. Ihave a good ideawhere it is located andwe drifted close to its

location with the en-gine raised. The wateris deeper this year and

not as clear and I wasunable to see the rocksand pilings even afterwe nudged up againstit. So be careful, it didnot disappear.

The first weekof July starts out with avery busy schedule. After the monthlymeeting July 3rdgo tothe beach and look to-wards Catawba and Iwill start out the week-end with a small fire-works display at myhouse. On our busyHoliday weekends ourpool is packed so putyour portable foldingchairs in your car trunkin case we need extraseating. At the end ofthe month we have the

Commodores Wineand Cigar Party onWednesday, August30thand will be host-ing the Corsair Na-tional Multihull Sail-boats that evening. The outdoor bandparty will be the firstweekend in August.

This year for the party, the infield will be opento parking for PCYC

members displayingtheir parking stickers. Please use them so wecan more closely moni-tor our uninvitedguests. I am also work-ing on a possible eventon Wednesday 23, Julyat PCYC. Think dancers-as in Russian. I will keepyou informed. Forthose of who know

what I am talkingabout, your mugs havearrived and are avail-able at the PCYC store.

Sorry, no subtlehumor this month.Spent all day on theboat and I am ex-hausted. I have thehouse lights off as Itype and the Junebugs are still attacking

just from the light ofthis computer. Theother little tiny buggersare coming rightthrough the screensand my wife wants meto move into the closetto finish this article. Soit is finished.

The definition of Yacht Club isA sporting club specificallyrelated to Yachting as fromWikipedia. We are surely asporting yachting member-ship at the PCYC as manyboaters have been enjoyingour club this summer. I haveseen both sailors and powerboaters busy around the clubon the weekends.

As the summer is in full swingnow, the pool is very busy. Please remember to respectour lifeguards while aroundthe pool. Also remember theall members are responsiblefor their guests actions whenon club property. It is allmembers responsibility to po-lice our rules and policies.

Our Pool Kitchen sink projectshould be completed as youread this article. Thesechanges will help with somenew offerings at the pool thisyear. Our slushy drinks havebecome popular by both ourkids and adults. We are im-proving the serving operationby replacing the window inthe kitchen adjacent to thepool.

Another project we havestarted is the replacement ofthe last marina pedestals. They have been prewired andwe will start installing thismonth and complete by theend of summer. Please thankour volunteer crew consistingof Rusty Jack, Eric, and Gary

    P A G E 2

Price that have been helpingwith this electrifying project.

You may have seen andheard that we have a port-able pump out wagon for ourmember boaters. We have

received and commissioned it.The board has approved ourrules for operation and use. Itis now available for use onThursdays, Fridays and Sun-days from 2 pm to 6 pm atthe hoist area. It is not to be

moved from this area. To useit you must go to the hoistdock area. Do not attempt toempty the tank yourself. Please contact the caretakerwhen it is full. This is new toour club and we welcomeyour suggestions and com-ments as always. The bestthing to remember is askquestions first before you

break it. I know this may behard to do for some of ourMen. If all else fails, there willbe a copy of the operationsfor use and rules on thepump out wagon.

Again, this is your club. Useit and have fun.

    ATTENTION DOCKAGE MEMBERS

Please remember that No one shall allowanother boat owner to use his/her dockwithout permission of the Dockage Chair-man or Dock Master. This rule is found inthe yearbook under Dock and Boat Regu-lations section B, #3. We have had severalsituations where we have had to removewater craft from docks they have notrented.

We have a Pelican Kayak #OH 2554 EM inthe rack storage area. There is no recordof who owns it. Last known owner was

James Rico in 2009 (who is not a mem-ber). If no one claims this watercraft it willbe removed from the club grounds.
