Saul becomes Paul

Saul was a man who did not understand the Gospel of Jesus, and persecuted Christians.

On the Road to Damascus, he was blinded and was spoken to by the Lord.

Ananias gave Saul his sight back as the Lord directed him to, and Paul was told he would be the Lord’s instrument to the gentiles.

Paul’s “overseeing” role of

the Churches established 13 books of the New Testament are credited to Paul.

On his journeys, Paul usually had traveling companions to the cities. Would stay there for a time and preach in synagogues or meeting places, even open public areas.

Would appoint certain people within the churches to be Pastors.

Included correction of false teachings (Gnosticism, philosophically misguided, and those emphasizing observance of Old Testament rituals).

SO WHAT DO WE LEARN?

We are to be….

Communally involved in spreading the GospelGrowing Spiritually: becoming leaders

Mindful of God’s active Word in our life and in others

We learn that Following Jesus and being a servant of the Lord entails difficulties in a person’s life. What Jesus did and how much he suffered and endured for us should give us hope that we do not grow weary. He is our Strength.
