Perhaps you sent a lovely card, or sat quietly in a chair; perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there.

Perhaps you spoke the kindest word, as any friend could say; perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day.

Whatever you did to console our hearts, we thank you so much, whatever the part.

The Ashley, Bruines and Hensley families extend our sincere and deepest gratitude to everyone who prayed for us, visited, called, and offered support during this time of hospitalization and bereavement. Your words of encouragement, acts of love, and loving thoughts have truly blessed and strengthened us. To God Be the Glory for the things He has done through you. We love and appreciate your many kindnesses to us. We ask that you continue to pray for us. May God bless each and every one of you. _ The Family

"Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceiiful, and beauty is vain: but a woman thatfeareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of

the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

(Proverbs 31:29-31)

God in His infinite wisdom graced the world with a beautiful butterfly, whom was lovingly named Patricia Elaine. She was born on April 15, 1967 to proud parents, Hattie Bruines Hensley and James Germany. She was reared by her mother and father who loved her as his very own, Petra Hensley Jr. She received her formal education from Foster Elementary School and Cullen Middle School. She later obtained her GED and further studies at Houston Community College.

After hearing her child crying out at the alter, Patricia gave her heart over to God and submitted to His will. She began her adult Christian walk under the leadership of Pastor Charlene Moore and then moved her membership to Unity in God under the leadership of Rev. Fred McNack. After hearing the gospel, she confessed Christ and was baptized at South Union Church under the leadership of Bro. James Roberson. She moved her membership to Missouri City Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Amram Joiner and she later returned to her home front at South Union Church of Christ, where Bro. Randall Tucker Sr. is the minister. She served on the youth ministry and sang in the chorus.

She met the love of her life in 1983, Mr. Robert Charles Ashley and they united in holy matrimony on December 16, 1995 at South Union Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. This union was blessed with three beautiful children: Myron Deon, Ashley Alexandria and Robert Charles.

Patricia always gave her all and dedication to everything she did. She was afforded various job opportunities and positions. She worked at Wal-Mart in the Connection Centers for several years, Yellowstone Academy, and was a Kingdom Kids Teacher at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. She loved caring for the elderly, as well as children. She was a provider for her elderly family members as well as others.

In her leisure, she enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking, helping others and do-it your self projects. She loved arts and crafts. Many items in her home, she made herself. She was a leader and very determined in all she did. She was very involved with her children, even in their adult life, but the true value of her heart was her adoring grandchildren.

Our beloved Patricia Elaine Ashley departed this earthly life on early Monday morning at 12:07 a.m. in Methodist Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father, Petra Hensley Jr.; biological father, James Germany; grandchildren, Ambrielle Bruines and Ramone Waite Jr.; brother, Anthony Hensley; grandparents, Petra Hensley Sr. and Jessie Hensley, Ruby Bruines, James Brown Jr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nelson Brown Sr. and JoAnn Brown.

She leaves precious and treasured memories to her loving husband, Robert Charles Ashley; mother, Hattie Hensley; devoted children, Myron Bruines, Ashley Bruines Waite (Ramone), Robert Bruines; adopted children, Bruce Cooper, Crystal Cooper and Brandy Gilford (Paul); brother, Darrell Bruines Sr. (Adrienne); sister, Ruby Mallard (Shannon); grandchildren, A'Mya Denae, A'Myni Dione, Kadence LaNette, Myrisa DeShaun, Mykailah Danielle, Araya Chanel, Myleah Devon, Robert Charles III, Nyla Marie, J ordyn Ayanna, Karson Amir, Infiniti Cheyenne, Maurice Rysheed, Mycah Dayana and Myron Deon Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, co-workers and friends.

Proverbs 18:22

"vVhosofindeth a wifefindeth a good thing, and obtainethfavour of the LORD."

Tricia, I read "He who finds a wife finds a good thing" and when God blessed me with you, I found everything I needed to complete me. My Superwoman! That's who you were to me. You were an amazing wife, mother and grandma who wore a big smile. Take your wings and be at rest.

Love your husband, Robert C. Ashley

Page 5: Patricia Elaine. 15, 1967

You were always honest with your daughter about what a real friend truly was &just to know we passed the test means the world to us. We will always cherish your authentic love & we will always remember the zealous energy we felt by simply being in your presence. Even though our hearts are broken we thank God for lending us his angel. We know you are up filling heaven with your beautiful laughter. Until we meet again, we love you Momma Ashley. Take your much deserved rest.

Love, Tori, Ashley, Jill and Briccale

Ms. Patricia has left a huge absence at Kingdom Kids. Always soft spoken, but yet wise and determined. Always loving and caring with every kid she cared for. Her energy drew everyone to her ... her stories about family and loved ones were joyful, full of magic and tenderness. Everyone at Kingdom Kids learned so much from her, she was a mother figure, a mentor, someone who cared about all of us who came in contact with her. She's definitely missed. She will always hold a special place in our heart. Rest in peace our baby whisperer. •

From the Kingdom Kids Staff

To My First Born ... Patricia Elaine, Mama never thought I would be saying goodbye to you, and I won't say "so soon", but not at all. I thought you would still be on this Earth long after I've gone. You were special in that you were the first to make me a "Mother." Not only were you my "little bitty baby" with the smallest little feet, but I knew you would be special because you soared early in all of your milestones. You did it your entire life. You were strong, fierce and a fighter just like your Mama. You looked like your Mama. Slowly over the years, you began to form into a mini-me, acknowledging it yourself. I am content knowing I loved you every day of your life and I was able to show you that love consistently. We talked so frequently and about everything under the moon. Most times I didn't have to say a word; you already knew and understood your Mama and vice versa. I know you loved me because not only did you tell me every single day you could, but you showed your Mama every single chance you could. Never once had I ever experienced you answer me without that common courtesy and respect of "Yes Ma'am." You were remarkable in everything you did and I was always so proud of you, especially seeing you rise above everything that would bring a typical person to a complete halt. In my sorrow and my broken heart oflosing you, I will look to my Creator, just as I taught you to do. I will miss you and thank you for not only being a great, loving, and devoted daughter but a remarkable and outstanding wife and mother, caring grandmother, protective sister, and an all-out hospitable human, even to strangers. I will miss everything about you. Wait for Mama at the gate. They should have some chairs or a bench there for you to sit on.

Lovingly submitted, Your Mama .... Hattie

Mama, as I look back over my life, I realize there were so many valuable nuggets that you were instilling in me along the way. I have often told you, I will forever honor you and have so much respect for you because I know it wasn't easy having and raising me so young, but you made it seem so smooth. All of the things you did with and to us that I strongly disliked, I find myself doing those same things with my children. I have truly watched you blossom into a beautiful butterfly. Thank you for showing us the good, bad and the ugly, so that we can remain strong even in our "valley moments." You were so wellrounded (you can go from sweet and loving to gangsta in the blink of an eye). We never knew which Mama was going to drive up - the one blasting Pimp C or Yolanda Adams. Thank you for always being so transparent with us and shooting it straight from the hip. You always kept it real with us. Sometimes you never said a word, we just knew. Even as adults, you often guided us and whether you liked it or not, you respected our decisions. It's amazing the love you gave us carried over to many of our friends and the company we kept. They love and respect you because you gave them the same tough love, yet sweet, nurturing wisdom that you gave us. I admire you so much Mom. It was never anything on this earth too difficult that you couldn't and wouldn't master. I have witnessed your determination in full effect. I pray that God gives me just an ounce of the strength, wisdom, resilience, fortitude and drive that you possess. For I'm sure there will never be another Patricia Ashley on this earth, but we will strive hard to continue your beautiful legacy that you put in motion many years ago. Thank you Mom just for being you! Take your rest my dear, we got it from here!

Forever loving you, Your eldest son, Pooh

Mama! My bestfriend, my ride or die, my diary and forever my Queen. Thank you, mama! You forgave all my childhood flaws; you stood by my side regardless of all my mistakes, and you loved me beyond words. When people ask me how I make motherhood look so easy I often say; "You know parenting doesn't come with a handbook but for me it does come with a pretty amazing mama." Amazing you were and I will take everything you taught me to continue to raise Sweets to be a strong, kind, fearless and to never to take no wooden nickels.

I love you so much Ladybird, and I miss your presence in my life mom.

Your Daughter & Bestfriend, Ashley

Admittedly, this is a very emotional and challenging time for me. I've struggled to understand and accept this situation. Losing your mom is a deeply painful experience. It comes with a hurricane of emotions, processing, and reflection. My mind wants to reject it all. But this is the reality. My mom is no longer with us in this world. I don't know how you can summarize or speak to an entire life. There are so many intricacies. People are dynamic and their relationship with the world is infinitely complex. My mom was a unique human who was more than any of us can fully comprehend or speak to.

So today I'm going to speak to my relationship with my mom. I hope you come away with a greater appreciation for what an incredible and inspiring woman she was.

Love your youngest son, Robert

Tricia, Tricia, Tricia. Where do I begin? From very early in my life, you were my mini-Mama. You took care of me, protected me, and loved me so much. You didn't have to say it; you showed it in every aspect of your life. Thank you for always being there. I don't EVER remember you telling me NO to anything. I am so blessed to have had you as MY SISTER. You had the most beautiful, selfless heart to not only me but Shannon Mae (as you called him), Kynedi, and everyone else. Anytime I needed Kynedi to learn how to do something, I knew to bring her to you and by the time I picked her up, it was a done deal. You helped and loved her so much. I will miss our calls and discussions we had every day. I will try to remember to "watch my purse" when I go somewhere because you would get it yourself when we were together. You definitely called me wherever I was to make sure I didn't lay it down anywhere; even when I was out of town. My heart is forever broken into a million little pieces with losing you. I will never be okay with it, but I am praying and know I will see you in my dreams to continue our memories. I miss you Tricia Mae and I got Mama.

Your little sister, Ruby "Tiece"

Patricia ... the one who without a doubt has my back, And ... the one who I can go where ever she's at. The one who has never abandoned me, Really, we were inseparable ... the way it will always be. It's as if I'm your first born, Call me your brother, but more like a son. Its life without you .. .I just don't know, Afterlife without my sister .. .I just don't know.

But as I go throughout my day to day, Realizing that I have some challenging times headed my way. Unless I think of the good times and the laughter we shared, I'll think of the trips, gatherings, and family affairs. Narrate stories like the time my classmates talked about my wardrobe, Energized and upset, you went right to the mall and bought me some designer clothes. So what about that time when I was in elementary and you took up for me,

Ambulances had to come get that middle school dude you beat up for me. See .. .lt was moments like these that I will keep close and always think of Happy and blessed to have experienced your love. Love so genuine that I will cherish forever, Ever ever, me not thinking of you ... NEVER! You got your wings .. .I love you ... rest is Heaven!

Love your brother, Darrell "Fattie Hattie"

Mama, thank you for accepting me as your son-in-law. You accepted me, bragged about me, and trusted me as your son-in-law even before you got to know me. You took me in and you've always treated me as your own son. You knew how to make me laugh or even put a smirk on my face if I looked irritated. You got me my first job not knowing anything about me but trusted me to do the right thing but most importantly you trusted me with your daughter to love and cherish and take good care of her. This is a hard pill to swallow knowing that your last words to me was " I love you son and mama gonna be alright". You are the most amazing, fun, entertaining, and down-to earth person I know and the best mother-in-law anyone could ask for. I love you mama and you'll forever be missed.

Love your son-in-law, Ramone

Granny, we love you with all our heart. You helped raise all of us and had a special bond with each of us. Granny you were our hero - when we needed you, you came to the rescue. We appreciate every little thing you did for us. We are going to miss you coming to our sport events. We knew when you were there because of your loud cheers and was always from and center in the crowd. We will celebrate your favorite holiday "Grandparent's Day" with you. You made many sacrifices for us and our parents. You corrected us when we were wrong, but most importantly you always showed us you loved us. We are so grateful for you! Now it's RJ and Ambrielle' s turn to experience some of Granny's sweet love in Heaven.

Love Your Grandchildren

Momma, you are not of my blood but I hope that you knew that you have always been in my heart! I hope and pray that you are in the Father's arms watching over us. You are the epitome of what a queen should be, you have always given your all at anything that you did! I thank you for always being there when I needed you. I love you forever and always.

Love, Brandy

I know we didn't get to spend much time together, but the time we did spend I will never forget. I will always cherish the memories. I will always appreciate the talk we had - it made me stronger and wiser, and I just want to thank you.

Always in my heart, Mersaydez

Tricia, I just want to thank you for being in my corner from day one. You welcomed me with open arms and over 20 plus years later, I can truly say it was an honor and privilege to be your brother-in-law. We shared a lot of great times, celebrations and special memories in the family. Thank you for treating me just like a birth brother and I am going to miss your presence. I will mourn you until I join you. Rest well my sister.

Love, Shannon "Doc"

She was one of the many who called me son but really meant it, and was also my sister in Christ. I remember the first time we talked - she talked to me as though she had been knowing me for years. From that point on, our bond just got stronger and stronger. I knew I could call her anytime, the random texts, and early morning calls cause she knew I was driving to work. She believed in me and Brandy, when we needed her she was there, she never took sides and always told it the way it was. Not only did she tell us, but she showed us. With any no phone call, she was coming to the house and we'd always start with a prayer. I just wish she could have been here in the flesh to help us on our big day, but there is no doubt she will be there in spirit. May she rest until we meet again. Love you Momma.

Love, Paul

Proverbs 18:22

"vVhosofindeth a wifefindeth a good thing, and obtainethfavour of the LORD."

Tricia, I read "He who finds a wife finds a good thing" and when God blessed me with you, I found everything I needed to complete me. My Superwoman! That's who you were to me. You were an amazing wife, mother and grandma who wore a big smile. Take your wings and be at rest.

Love your husband, Robert C. Ashley
