When does it start?

Easter in Sweden lasts from Holy Thursday until Easter Monday, when Easter ends the Swedish.

Traditions

Children take center stage as they make something similar to Halloween, dressing up as Easter Witches and visiting the homes in search of the precious candy or sweets.

Traditions

The houses are decorated with birch branches, feathers and painted Easter egg colors. The eggs can be painted by hand at home. It's common that search for eggs takes place on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Where does

It goes back to medieval times, when there were witches who at this time held a "coven" in the island Blkull. The only quick and convenient way to get there was riding a flying broomstick.
