The main project objective is to promote the setting up of innovation system in the MED area involving public administration, research centers, innovation drivers, categories' asso- ciations and SMEs (the triangle of innovation) capitalizing the results coming out by the projects of the CITEK partnership previously implemented (ICS, IKTIMED and R&D) and setting up synergies and knowledge exchan- ge with projects funded by other CTE programs. CITEK is a project that integrates both regio- nal and transnational levels. It aims at foste- ring the competitiveness of MED SMEs and cooperatives promoting a new public-private partnership to support innovation, based on the integration with internationalization strate- gies and a more open approach of knowledge transfer.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

CITEK project -“Capitalization Initiative for the

Innovation and Internationalization of the

MED economic and knowledge system" is a

territorial cooperation project �nanced by the

Programme Med in the capitalization call for

proposal.

The main project objective is to promote the

setting up of innovation system in the MED

area involving public administration, research

PARTNERSHIP

The project partnership comprises 9 orga-

nizations from 6 different countries, toge-

ther with two external partners that will

support the implementation of the project

activities. The partnership was conceived to

activate a public-private and institutional-

technical co-operation both supporting the

transfer of innovative policies, guidelines,

strategies and web-based tools, and

identifying and establishing Mediterranean

innovation communities composed of

research centres, universities and clusters

with the aim of developing innovative

working programmes.

MAIN PROJECT ACTIVITIES Med smart specialization strategies'

implementation observatory;

Mutual integration and harmonization of

ICT based methodologies, tools and

services, able to improve the innovation

and internationalization potentials of

Med Area and SMEs/Cooperatives;

dissemination and capitalisation of

distinctive know-how, common methods

and operational tools, innovative mana-

gement system at a transnational level;

transnational elaboration and manage-

ment of speci�c mainstreaming activities,

useful to orient public policies;

pilot project for the setting up of Open

linked data capitalization system.

Promoting a monitoring system of the smart specialization’s implementation; Promoting the improvement of the MED smart specialization strategies’ gover-nance system;Promoting the involvement of social actors in the future MED Smart Speciali-zation stragies;

Improving and exploiting the already existing innovative trans-national knowledge based innovation network platform;Setting up Knowledge and Innovation Communities according the project partners’ interests;Involving the “triangle of Innovation” actors.

BUSINESS

Boosting market oriented innovation;Improving and exploiting the already existing trans-national online business community;Contributing to the strengthening of the international dimension of MED SMEs and cooperatives improving their networking and “clusterization” capabili-ties;

OPEN DATA

Promoting the implementation of a pilot action in relation to the Open data system.
