Holy and blessed God, you have fed us with the body and blood of your Son and filled
us with your Holy Spirit: may we honour you, not only with our lips but in lives
dedicated to the service of Jesus Christ our Lord.

FOR YOUR PRAYERS THIS WEEK
• Our Bishops, Archdeacon Andy and the local clergy and their families. Our
Readers, Wardens and our PCC.
• For all involved in the selection of a new Rector for our benefice
• For healing to all those we know who are sick, particularly for Jill’s mother and
Revd Liz Moy.
• All those mourning the loss of loved ones.
• For the people of Sulawesi impacted by the earthquake, tsunami and volcanic
eruption.
• For unity in our country as important decisions on our future are made.
• Those struggling with financial burdens and lack of food giving thanks for the
voluntary organisations that provide food and support to those in need.
• For our Junior Christian Clubs in Cullingworth, Harden and Denholme.
• For newcomers to Cullingworth and that our church may find ways of making our
presence and message known.
• That we may find new ways to use our facilities for the needs of the community,
possibly a carers café and for offers of help and support.
• Pray for peace within ourselves and those we come into contact with.
Suzy invites you to use this prayer:-
God of Mission who alone brings growth to your Church, Send your Holy
Spirit to give Vision to our planning, Wisdom to our actions, and power to our witness. Help our church to grow in numbers, in spiritual commitment to
you, and in service to our local community, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you would like to pray with the clergy about any personal matter, please do speak
to us and we will be delighted to pray with you.
FUNDRAISING
The coffee money for October is going to “RABI - Supporting farming families” who are a welfare charity that offer financial support to farming people of all ages in times
of hardship.

Friday 12th Evening of music featuring ‘Saxophonics’ 7pm at St. Matthew’s -Young people (16-22) who play really well, it will be good. Followed by refreshments.
Saturday 13th Autumn Fundraiser Coffee Morning 12.00 Denholme Church
Sunday 14th Family Harvest Service 10.00 at Church. Please bring your Shoe Boxes for JOY – see below for further details – the last date for the shoe boxes is the second week in
November

Yorkshire’s Small Brass Band At 7:30pm “LB Brass” will be playing a concert at St John’s,
Cullingworth. Tickets are £10 each and the concert will be followed by a cheese and wine party. Tickets are available from St John’s Church, Hair Flair or any member of the PCC.
