FEATURING y o u r i n s t r u c t o r s … . . .
Cl in ics
1 . P r i n c i p l e t o P u r p o s e - M a y 2 1 / 2 2
How different would it feel to ride with a purpose? What can we do to
put real purpose to things using all of the principles that form our PNH
foundation? When a horse has a job to do whether it is dragging
something, opening a gate, backing into a stall or using a pedestal to
teach our horse to be confident stepping up into a trailer, he begins to
see a reason for it and will put more effort into doing it. A horse that is
trained and trained without ever getting to realize a purpose will lose
incentive. In short, you cause your idea to become his! Without ever
losing sight of your PNH principles, the focus of this clinic will now be
the "Purpose". If you understand the principle of what you are doing,
you will know what you are shooting for. Purpose gives meaning to the
Principle.
After this clinic you will be amazed at how it will give your horse
renewed interest in you as a leader.
Prerequisite: Level 2 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed)
2 . C a r r o t S t i c k R i d i n g - J u l y 3 0 / 3 1
Carrot Stick riding is so effective in helping humans to learn natural
riding positions and dynamics, to have an independent seat, and to not
over-use the reins. It is also the foundation to riding bridleless. Learn
techniques for guiding and supporting your horse. Learn the impor-
tance and technique of your phases while riding with your carrot
stick(s). Learn how to maintain control over your horse's feet without
ever pulling on his face. This clinic takes Freestyle riding to the next
level and reinforces how important an independent seat is for riding in
synchronicity with your horse.
Prerequisite: Beginning Level 3 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed )
3 . Tr a i l R i d i n g C l i n i c / R e t r e a t - O c t . 1 / 2
Spend a unique 2 days together with your horse and gain more Savvy
along the way with the support of a Parelli Instructor. Develop a higher
level of respect and better communication in the saddle.
In every area of your horsemanship, especially in a trail environment you
need the three C's: Control, Confidence and Competence. Learn how to
be safe on the trail using the principles of Parelli Natural Horsemanship.
This Trail Riding Clinic/Retreat will immerse you in 2 days with your
horse in a trail riding environment with a maximum total of 6 riders , so
there will be lots of attention to your horsemanship questions. The first
half day will focus on the preparation to trail ride safely with a substan-
tial amount of instruction time with L2/L3 tasks, especially those that
will be beneficial for the riders safety on the trail. This will be followed
by introducing your horses to different obstacles and simulations one
might encounter before venturing out onto the trail. For part of the first
day and the entire second day horse and riders will be out on the trail,
learning how to set up fun challenges and encountering puzzles along
the way. You will use patterns to build higher levels of respect and emo-
tional fitness on the ground and in the saddle.
The second day will be entirely out on the trail with a boxed lunch
arriving half way through your day . During the evening of the first day
look forward to a BBQ dinner and campfire back at Dream Feather
Horsemanship Centre where riders are invited to gather together to
compare stories of the day and to prepare for the next.
Prerequisites: Level 2 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed )
Riders should be confident with riding outside of familiar
surroundings and with a group of horses
Workshops
1 . C a n U - M a y 2 3
With the support of two instructors, we will be choosing from a number
of imaginative tasks from the OnLine and Freestyle Savvys, that will
make you stretch your Savvy and put “principle to purpose”.
Are you playing all 7 Games from the ground and while riding? Master
them and have fun at the same time by participating in a day of chal-
lenges, tasks and group games called "Can U?" Each task can be per-
formed at 3 or 4 different levels and will be supported with instruction
from Ron Pyne, a 3 Star Instructor and assisted by Judy Griffiths, a 1
Star Instructor (On-Line only).
Prerequisite: Level 1 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed)
2 . Tr a i l e r L o a d i n g - J u l y 2 9
It's not about the trailer! However if you develop the 7 Games around
the trailer you will see that your horse will load with confidence. Under-
stand how your horse's horsenality is critical to having the right ap-
proach to loading. Discover how "Direct Line" thinking ( getting your
horse in the trailer ) or putting “purpose before principle” will lead to
fear and a breakdown of trust.
Have the use of a variety of kinds of trailers to play with to prepare for
any kind of trailering you might be using to transport. Each student will
be expected to use their trailer (if applicable) along with other trailers
as part of the simulations. This clinic is not about loading your horse in
a trailer, however the principles behind the day will certainly allow you
and your horse to see the trailer in a totally different way.
Prerequisite: Level 1 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed)
3 . I n t r o d u c t i o n & D e v e l o p m e n t o f t h e
C a n t e r - A u g . 1
Relaxation is the secret to a confident canter for you and your horse.
Develop the skills to properly prepare your horse for transitions to the
canter. Take the time it takes and be so in tune with your horse that he
won't be right brained when you ask him to move around at this gait.
Discover what you need to know to ask your horse to canter.
Prerequisite: Advancing Level 2 (Self Assessed or Formally Assessed )
- confident with riding Freestyle at a trot/gait
Focus Groups
1 . S a d d l i n g & M o u n t i n g S a v v y - M a y 2 0 ( a m )
Saddling and mounting your horse is about the Friendly Game. Learn
how to have a conversation with your horse while saddling, so that your
horse feels like you are doing it with him and for him, not to him.
Strengthen your relationship by asking for permission to mount and
learn strategies to have your horse act like a partner. Learn how to
prevent and fix problems. The "hurry up and wait game" and safe pat-
terns will be emphasized as well as learning how to ask your horse to
come to you so that you can mount from a fence, a log or anywhere else
you might need to.
Prerequisite: Advancing Level 1 (Self Assessed or formally Assessed )
2 . S t i c k t o M e / D r i v i n g - M a y 2 0 p m
“Stick To Me” is a concept that is truly about the relationship. Have you
ever watched a herd of horses canter across a pasture in unison? Let’s
learn what horses do naturally. Lets learn the Savvy secrets to having our
horse follow, and to having our horse walk when we walk, trot when we
trot, canter when we canter and stop when we stop. You will more fully
understand the importance of asking softly while using energy through
your body as phase 1. This foundation will then help you to be confident
with your communications, so that you will be able to play the Driving
Game” through the different zones, using 1 rein firstly before progressing
to 2 reins
Prerequisite: Level 1 ( Self Assessed or Formally Assessed)
3 . H o r s e m a n s h i p G o a l S e t t i n g - M a y 2 4 ( a m )
Learn how to once and for all set your horsemanship goals. Learn how fear
of failure can impact your progression and what you can do. This will be a
hands on session and you will leave with a plan! Goal setting is a powerful
process for thinking about your ideal horsemanship future, and for motivat-
ing yourself to turn this vision of the future into reality. The process of set-
ting goals helps you choose where you want to go in your horsemanship
journey. You will also quickly spot the distractions along the way. Judy Grif-
fiths in her professional role as a guidance counsellor, taught goal setting
to students as well as teachers and is eager to help you as PNH students.
Prerequisite : open to all levels
Note: this course is without horses. You will receive a workbook and hand-
outs

Bob Scott is a licensed farrier and is qualified in the use of the
CytekTM Shoes. As well as providing barefoot trimming for horses Bob
exclusively uses the Cytek TM horseshoe. The CytekTM horseshoe is
the result of detailed studies of the natural hoof in wild horses. After a
meticulous and detailed study of the equine anatomy and biomechan-
ics, years of trial, feedback from horse owners, farriers and veterinari-
ans from all over the world, The CytekTM Shoe has become the first
real technological innovation in horse shoes in the last 200 years.
Come to hear about this fascinating way of looking at the health of
our horses feet.

you want to make them feel better quickly? Learn about PhotonicTM
Therapy and its scientific proof as a natural healing modality. The
Photonic Health Acu-lightTM is an at home system which provides eve-
rything you need to help your pets feel their best in no time. The Acu-

and allows the body to heal itself. It works effectively on all pets as
well as their owners! Join us for a demonstration on actual horses and
have the opportunity to ask questions about this Parelli endorsed
health tool.

3 . S h a r e Yo u r B e s t R e m e d y - J u l y 2 9 8 - 1 0 p
As another great PNH day comes to an end, join us at a camp fire setting
to share remedies and things that have worked for you when it comes
to horse husbandry. Do you have something that you have found that is
effective on rain rot, thrush, a supplement that you have had personal
success with. Would you like to know what Pasture Paradise Is? Do you
have feeding issues?
This is not a technical discussion and we will not be endorsing anything
or any product. The evening will be a simple information sharing and
conversation. Either way it will be a relaxing way to spend and evening .
Note: Please bring a chair and a beverage to the camp fire
4 . “ T i e O n e O n ” - M a y 2 3 , 7 - 9 p m
Knots are not only necessary for safety of your horse but they are a
necessary Savvy if you are on a trail ride, trailering or tying up your horse
anywhere. This hands on discussion, you will learn what “safe” knots you
need to know. Spend an afternoon with Parelli students, while Parelli
Instructors help you to learn or refresh your memory on such knots as (as
time permits) :
Half Hitch,
Neck Tie (for tying the “take down rein” around your horse’s neck while riding)
Horseman’s Bowline,
Bank Robber’s Knot,
Hackamore Knot,
Making your halter or hackamore smaller/larger.
Note: Please bring your 12 foot, 22 foot and savvy string and 42 foot
line if you have one.

What are some of the things that you have heard that may be myths
when it comes to trailering your horse? Should you tie a horse? Is a
straight load better than a stock trailer? Is a hay net necessary? What
about watering your horse. The campfire will again be the setting for
this discussion on an interesting topic. Come with your questions and
opinions and let the discussion begin. Ron Pyne will be there to give his
opinion on these questions and more.
Note: Please bring a chair and a beverage for the fireside
6 . P a r e l l i S a d d l e Te s t R i d e - J u l y 3 0 7 - 1 0 p
If you have not had a chance to see, feel and actually see your horse’s
response to comfort, now is your chance. We will have the Natural
Performer, Fluidity, Dressage and the new “Cruiser” at this discussion.
Try a Parelli saddle on a real horse...YOURS!. Please note that this is
NOT a saddle fitting workshop but Parelli Instructors will be there to
help answer your questions on the saddles, shimming and the
Theraflex TM pad.
