PARADOR OF SANTO ESTEVO INAUGURATES ITS NEW SPAThe pool spa, the steam bath, the sensation showers, the sauna andthe relax room are some of the facilities inaugurated by the Presidentof Paradores, Antoni Costa, in the Parador of Santo Estevo (Ourense).The network has invested 1.4 million euros in the 900m2 spa. Theobjective, according to Costa, is ‘to strengthen our water wellness line,contributing to making Ribeira Sacra a year-round tourist destination’.

La Red ha invertido 1,4 millones de euros en este spa de900 m2. Su objetivo, según Costa, es ‘potenciar nuestra línea de saludpor agua contribuyendo a la desestacionalización de la Ribeira Sacra’.

empezarán a finales de este año.El futuro parador, que fue sede del Convento de Predicadores de la orden de los Dominicos,dispondrá de 53 habitaciones en las tres plantas de losantiguos dormitorios delconvento. La restauración deledificio supondrá una inversiónde 17 millones de euros.

Se presenta el renovado Parador de Málaga GolfLas nuevas instalaciones del Parador deMálaga Golf han recibido la visita del ministrode Industria, Comercio y Turismo, Joan Clos,que estuvo acompañado por el presidente de Paradores, Antoni Costa; la secretariageneral de Turismo, Amparo Fernández, y el consejero de Turismo, Comercio yDeporte de la Junta de Andalucía, SergioMoreno. Esta renovación ha ampliado en un 50% la capacidad del hotel y ha supuestouna inversión de 11,74 millones de euros.

Introducing the new Málaga Golf ParadorThe new facilities of the Málaga GolfParador were visited by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Joan Clos, who was accompanied by the President of Paradores, Antoni Costa;Amparo Fernández, the General Secretaryof Tourism; and Sergio Moreno, theTourism, Commerce and Sports Advisor ofAndalucía. This remodelling effort allowedhotel capacity to expand by 50% after an investment of 11.74 million euros.

PARADORES’ EARNINGS GO UP14.7% IN 4 YEARS Paradores President Antoni Costa presented the 2007 annual results that confirm that ‘todayParadores is a morecompetitive company that is better prepared to face the future’. Paradoresearnings rose in 2007 to283.77 million euros, whichmeans a 14.7% increase in the last four years. In terms of activity, 1.45millions guests meant an average occupation rate of 69.45%. On the other hand, the improvementand development plan inwhich 88.8 million euros were invested in 2007translates into a Network with 5,936 rooms, of which 82% are new or have been renovated.

Los ingresos de Paradoresascendieron en 2007 a 283,77 millones de euros, loque supone un crecimiento del14,7% en los últimos cuatroaños. Respecto a la actividad,se atendió a 1,45 millones declientes y se mantuvo uníndice medio de ocupación del69,45%. Por otro lado, el plande mejora y expansión (en elque se invirtió 88,8 millones deeuros en 2007) se ha traducidoen una Red con 5.936habitaciones, de las que el82% son nuevas o renovadas.

INTENSA ACTIVIDADDE PARADORES EN FITURReuniones comerciales,convenios con instituciones y presentaciones de prensamarcaron la agenda deParadores en la XVIII edición deFITUR. Antoni Costa, presidentede Paradores, presentó en elstand de la Red la maqueta delfuturo Parador de Ibiza, que seexpuso dentro de una muestradel Plan Estratégico. Además,Antoni Costa y el alcalde deLeón, Francisco Fernández,firmaron un acuerdo para dar a conocer de forma conjunta losatractivos turísticos de la ciudady el Hostal de San Marcos.

INTENSEPARADORESACTIVITY IN FITURSales meetings, collectiveagreements with institutionsand press releases marked the agenda for Paradores in the 18th edition of FITUR. At the Network’s stand Antoni Costa, President ofParadores, presented the modelfor the future Parador of Ibiza which was a part of the Strategic Plan exhibition.Furthermore, Antoni Costa andthe mayor of León, FranciscoFernández, signed an agreementin a joint effort to promote the charms of the city and the Hostal de San Marcos.

PRESENTADO EN LLEIDA EL PROYECTODEL FUTURO PARADOR DE EL ROSER

begin at the end of this year. The future parador, the formerConvento de Predicadores, a Dominican convent, will have 53 rooms spread over the three floors of what were convent bedrooms. The restoration of the building will mean an investment of 17 million euros.

NEW WEB FORPARADORES With a new design and expanded andupdated content, the new web pagewww.parador.es was launched. Among the new features is navigation that is moreagile and intuitive, the possibility to consultavailability in real time, geographical locatorof Paradores and a new cuisine section thatoffers information on culinary events thattake place within the network and recipes of the main dishes made by the chefs of thechain. Additionally, access for people withspecial needs has been added and the onlinereservation process has been simplified to four easy steps. One can also receivealternatives in real time when a request can’t be attended to.
