Stainless steel AISI 304 polished/satin finish LineStainless steels are characterized by greater resistance to oxidation and corrosion, especially in humid air or in fresh water, compared to the so-called “carbon steel” (or in common non-alloy steel).

This capacity is mainly due to the presence of chromium, in the alloy, which is able to passivate, that’s to say to cover itself with a thin and adherent layer of oxides, practically invisible with a thickness equal to a few atomic layers (in order of 0.3-5 nm ), which superficially protects the metal or alloy underlying, from the action of oxygen and external chemical agents.AISI 304 also called inox 18/10 is a non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel commonly used for the production of pots and cutlery
