1 The cornerstone of the Palisade Data Loss Prevention (DLP) suite is the PacketSure TM DLP solution. PacketSure TM DLP prevents sensitive and confidential information from leaving data networks, providing an easytoinstall and easytouse solution for ensuring regulatory compliance. Leveraging configuration wizards and flexible reporting templates, network security staff can quickly secure their network against the loss of proprietary, financial, healthcare related, or other sensitive data. The PacketSure TM DLP solution works in tandem with the Palisade Data at Rest (DAR) Discovery Agent, which analyzes and identifies data residing on hard drives on user workstations, servers, or networkattached storage. The platform also can be scaled to larger network deployments by leveraging the Palisade Centralized Management System (CMS), which allows for a single management point for geographically dispersed deployments. The PacketSure TM DLP 7.6 solution analyzes Data in Motion in realtime, across all network protocols, including: Email (SMTP) Web Traffic, including applications such as mail, wikis and blogs (HTTP/HTTPS) Instant Messaging File Transfers (FTP) Features and Benefits The Palisade™ DLP Product Suite offers the following important features and benefits: PreBuilt DLP Policies PacketSure TM DLP provides prebuilt DLP policies for social security numbers, credit card numbers, Patient Health Information (PHI) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Personal Financial Information (PFI) in compliance with the GrammLeachBliley Act, and profanity. Unique Layered Approach – PacketSure TM DLP optimizes performance through a unique three layered filtering approach. First, protocol filtering is used to identify traffic via signatures and block the usage of unwanted applications and protocols with TCP/IP reset packets. Second, web filtering is applied to prevent the access of specific categories or websites. Finally, content analysis is applied on the remaining traffic for confidential data. The cornerstone of the Palisade Data Loss Prevention (DLP) suite is the Packet‐SureTM DLP solution.  PacketSureTM DLP prevents sensitive and confidential infor‐mation from leaving data networks, providing an easy‐to‐install and easy‐to‐use solution for ensuring regulatory compliance.  Leveraging configuration wizards and flexible reporting templates, network security staff can quickly secure their net‐work against the loss of proprietary, financial, healthcare related, or other sensi‐tive data.

The PacketSureTM DLP solution works in tandem with the Palisade Data at Rest (DAR) Discovery Agent, which analyzes and identifies data residing on hard drives on user workstations, servers, or network‐attached storage.  The platform also can be scaled to larger network deployments by leveraging the Palisade Centralized Management System (CMS), which allows for a single management point for geo‐graphically dispersed deployments.

The PacketSureTM DLP 7.6 solution analyzes Data in Motion in  real‐time, across all network protocols, including:

Email (SMTP)

Web Traffic, including applications such as mail, wikis and blogs (HTTP/HTTPS)

Instant Messaging

File Transfers (FTP)

Features and Benefits

The Palisade™ DLP Product Suite offers the following important features and bene‐fits:

Pre‐Built DLP Policies ‐ PacketSureTM DLP provides pre‐built DLP policies for social security numbers, credit card numbers, Patient Health Information (PHI) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Personal Financial Information (PFI) in compliance with the Gramm‐Leach‐Bliley Act, and profanity.

Unique Layered Approach – PacketSureTM DLP optimizes performance through a unique three layered filtering approach.  First, protocol filtering is used to identify traffic via signatures and block the usage of unwanted applications and protocols with TCP/IP reset packets.  Second, web filtering is applied to pre‐vent the access of specific categories or websites.  Finally, content analysis is applied on the remaining traffic for confidential data.

Feature Benefit

Ease of Installation The Palisade PacketSureTM DLP solution can be config-ured and installed in less than 45 minutes, allowing busy network administration staff to move on to their next project.

Custom DLP Policies Custom tools in the form of pattern matching, data base fingerprinting, file fingerprinting, and compliance tem-plates are utilized to create policies specific to an organi-zation’s confidential data.

Real Time Alerts This configurable option can be used to notify the appro-priate security administrator when a policy has been violated.

Policy Notifications Notifications can be sent to end users who violate poli-cies over corporate email (SMTP). The content includes the remediation that was taken and what specific policy it applies to.

Integration with Encryption Solutions PacketSureTM DLP can be configured to integrate with an existing or 3rd party gateway encryption engine. Mes-sages can be re-routed to a specific IP address, port number, as well as adding or modifying headers of the email.

Extensive web-filtering database Human verified database is updated on a nightly basis and parsed into 40 different categories. In addition, custom lists can be created and applied to specific user groups.

Granular access restrictions The integration with Active Directory allows for depart-ment specific DLP policies, and granular access restric-tions to specific applications/protocols and websites.

Flexible reports PacketSureTM DLP provides real-time reporting, dashboards, canned and custom reports. All reports can be saved, scheduled, emailed or downloaded.

Interoperability with Cisco IronPort S‐Series Web Security Appliance™ ‐ Pack‐etSureTM DLP and the IronPort S‐Series Web Security appliance (WSA)™ inter‐operate to analyze and control web traffic for transmissions of confidential data.  Using the External DLP feature of the IronPort WSA, you can forward all or specific HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP traffic to the PacketSureTM DLP.  Based on policy, the PacketSureTM DLP appliance informs the IronPort WSA to allow or block the data.
