When a newly tuned station does notreceive traffic information for 5 seconds, the radio retunes to next station which has adifferent PI and which broadcasts trafficinformation. If, during the chosen retune time (30seconds for a short retune or 90 seconds fora long retune), the unit can no longerreceive the current station which wasbroadcasting traffic information, it will startto search for the next station that has thesame PI.If no station with the same PI is found afterone search cycle, the radio will search forthe next station broadcasting trafficannouncements.

The radio will then emit a doublebeep sound (ALARM).If a newly tuned station does not broadcastany traffic information for 5 seconds, a beepcan be heard. If the unit can no longer receive the currentstation during the chosen retune time, abeep sound can also be heard. If a newly tuned station has no RDS signal, the message “PI SEEK” disappears.

This function allows you to set the durationafter which the automatic search for trafficinformation or a station with an identical PIshould be carried out.- The automatic searchwill take place after 90 seconds.

The automatic searchwill take place after 30 seconds.

Any alternative frequency (AF) with adifferent PI or which does not broadcast anRDS signal that is strong enough willnormally be masked when the PI is checkedwhile the unit searches for an alternativefrequency. The unit will not automatically goto this type of alternative frequency. It ispossible that an AF which does notbroadcast a strong enough RDS signal is avalid AF, but that the car radio wronglyconsiders it as a station with a different PIdue to interference. For this reason, the unitoffers the user an option (MASK DPI) whichdoes not mask the AFs which do notbroadcast a strong RDS signal.

Only masks the alternative frequencies witha different PI.-Masks alternative frequencies with a strongsignal that have a different PI or which donot emit a strong enough RDS signal.
