Mackey, 87, of Lan- caster passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her home. She was born June 6, 1924 in Hampton County, SC, a daugh- ter of the late Emory Perry and Clara Sauls Snipes. Mrs. Mackey was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lancaster and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #146 Jackson Lodge. A service to cele- brate the life of Mrs. Mackey will be held Wednesday, April 18 at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Brian Saxon and the Rev. Larry Helm officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park. Mrs. Mackey is sur- vived by two sons, Bill Mackey and his wife, Judy of Waxhaw and Ronald Mackey and his wife, Connie of Gastonia; and a num- ber of grandchildren and great-grandchil- dren. She was preced- ed in death by a daughter, Geraldine Mangum; and a brother, Harold Snipes. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at the Second Baptist Church. Tommy Woodward HEATH SPRINGS— A memorial service for Tommy Anthony Woodward, 59, was held at 12 noon, Sat- urday, April 14 in Abney Baptist Church, Kershaw. The Revs. Curtis Cameron and Kelvin Hinson officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the ser- vice beginning at 11a.m. in the sanctu- ary. Mr. Woodward died Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster. Born in Rock Hill, he was the son of the late Johnny and Etta Teal Wood- ward. He retired from Carolina Cargo as a heavy duty truck mechanic and was a member of Abney Bap- tist Church. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grand- children. Mr. Wood- ward served in the US Army during the Kore- an Conflict and was a Purple Heart Recipi- ent. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Kathy Horne Woodward; daughter, Susan W. Hilton (Timothy) of Heath Springs; son, Tony Woodward (Diana) of Kershaw; six grandchildren, Erica Woodward, Mea- gan Woodward, Dustin Woodward, Devin Woodward, Allen Woodward, Jacob Woodward; two great grandchildren, Bryson Woodward and Destinee Lucas; two brothers, Robert Woodward (Renee), Johnny Woodward (Laurie) all of Lancast- er; sister, Lori Bowers (Phillip) of Heath Springs; daughter-in- law, Amy Woodward of Heath Springs and special canine friend “Peanut”.
