Ben returns to the Opposite Lock Gympie teamSay Hi to Ben Lawley - our new Opposite Lock Store Manager.

Ben worked for us some time back as an accessory fitter in our workshop and now… He’s BACK!

So why are we so excited?

Well it’s pretty simple, Ben knows his outdoor, off-road, 4x4 and touring gear better than anyone we’ve come across. And on top of that he’s just generally an all-round nice bloke with an amazing level of experience working in the off-road industry.

Before he joined our team at Opposite Lock Ben’s career included time working as a qualified mechanic and fitter both here in Australia and overseas in California in the

USA.

During his time there he worked for a 4x4 restoration and retrofitting company, putting together incredible classic off-roaders and upgrading new off the shelf 4WD’s into no-nonsense-go-anywhere BEASTS. Ben even built up his own Toyota FJ cruiser with some mind blowing upgrades and technology to display at SEMA (one of the United States biggest automotive shows) held in Las Vegas each year; and attended by automotive royalty and celebrities like Jay Leno, Kenny Block, Chip Foose and Richard Petty just to name a few.

When he wasn’t restoring old LandCruisers or rubbing elbows with celebrities at SEMA, Ben and his wife liked to get out into the California

and Mojave Deserts to put their own vehicle to the test. And this kind of travel hasn’t stopped since his return to Australia either.

Whenever they can, Ben and his family hit the road to go gem fossicking in western Queensland and more recently in the Melbourne gold fields.

Ben is also an avid roller hockey player, so they’ll often pack up their Triton (which they’ve lovingly built from the ground up for touring and camping) then hit the road on a trip to explore somewhere new that’s nearby to where he’ll be playing a match.

They’ve got everything fitted to the Triton they could need to keep the family comfortable on the road and allow them to tackle any terrain they come across. Ben has installed

We recently combined our Opposite Lock and Goodyear store fronts and service desk to make it easier for you to browse everything you might need under one roof.And those with a keen eye will have seen that there’s something happening with our service bays.

So, if you’re not already aware our Service Centre has MOVED! Don’t worry though we haven’t gone far… we’ve moved next door into a newer, larger and more comfortable space. But why move?

Well, we were beginning to out grow our existing space and we’ve been hearing from our customers that they’d like more space to stretch out while they were waiting for their vehicles to be serviced. Plus, we’ve been in our current service building for almost 10 years. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? So, it was time for an upgrade.

So, what can you expect? Well we wanted to build the new service centre with one goal in mind. Making our customers smile. So, to try and do that there’s a few changes you’ll likely see on your next service which we hope you’ll really like.

New Service Drive-thru Drop-off So, to start with your drop off to the service department will be quicker and easier with our new driveway service lane. Simply drive into the service drive thru lane, stop at the door and our Service team will come out and book in your car, take your keys and park your vehicle.

Next, you’ll be able to relax in our larger and more comfortable service lounge with new couches and a bigger seating area to take a rest in. And lastly, you’ll get a birds-eye view of our service area and service bays through the workshop window. Allowing you watch the progress of your vehicle’s service while you wait.

You told us you don’t like to have to wait to long for your service to be completed. So, to improve our service wait time and get you back on the road sooner we have installed more service bays, hired extra technicians and installed an extra QUICK service bay to reduce the time you spend without your car. With more quick service bays you’ll be able to book your car in for selected services, have it serviced, and be back on the road in 30 minutes.

And of course, for those longer services we will still be providing a drop off service for you so that you can get to and from work or the shops while we take care of your car. But there is still one more surprise to come in our new service centre.

Well we’re excited to announce that in the coming months our service customers will have access to our all new coffee shop built exclusively Pacific Gympie customers. You’ll be able to enjoy your favourite choice of coffee from our customer only coffee lounge on your next service
