SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DANCE
The Talent Scholarships in Dance are intended to help support distinguished dance students. Scholarships will be offered in amounts of $1000-‐$4000 per year, renewable depending on continued participation, for a total of up to $16,000. Recipients will be expected to plan to pursue a Dance Major or Dance Minor. APPLICATION PROCESS 1. The application below must be submitted electronically (to [email protected]) two weeks before your audition. 2. Once you submit your application you will be contacted to schedule an audition time slot. 3. In person audition will include
• Present a 2-‐minute solo in the dance genre of your choice. • An interview
4. See below if you cannot attend one of the auditions dates. 3. Applicants will be notified of reward by the Office of Financial Aid. 1. EXPERIENCE – Complete a Resume. Your Resume should include the following information:
• Name, address, email, phone number: • HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDED/CITY, STATE: • Current GPA • Training at Dance School(s), area(s) of training, years of training in each area: • Performance experience:
Title of work, choreographer, description of work, location of performance • The Resume should be saved as Firstname.Lastname.resume.doc
Example – Jennifer.Camp.Resume.doc 2. PHOTOS – Attach
• One black and white headshot photo • One black and white photo of a side view in first arabesque • Or a full-‐bodied contemporary dance image of yourself that clearly showcases the
lines of the body. VIDEO AUDITION OPTION If you cannot attend the audition dates in February. You may submit a video audition along with the application material above. Please supply below 1 video link of a two-‐minute solo. You will also need to schedule a phone interview.

3. LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION BY A DANCE MENTOR/TEACHER Provide one letter of recommendation by a dance teacher or mentor describing the following:
• Technical and performance artistry • Responsibility in the classroom and rehearsals.
