Degree Course Information
New degrees will start next yearSystems EngineeringRoboticsMSc Informatics
The University has agreed that we can use some Mechanical Engineering modules
A MSc in Systems Engineering, involving ME, has not been approved, but we may try again.
There is a good increase in EE and Cyb firm acceptances, smaller in CS. Thanks to all helping at School Open/Visit days, in particular the admissions tutors.
For Next Year
University has reviewed PAR and Personal Tutoring Systemresults not yet available, but possible changesMore emphasis that PAR is student’s Personal Academic Record … student responsible for itTutor-tutee meetings will not be so much of a ‘tick box’
There is now a Staff Portal on to RISIS, so you can all access information on your tutees, get class lists, etc.
The University’s centralised timetabling system should be working … may be teething problems!
School Plans
Will continue development of School Web pagesWill investigate best way of presenting ‘current
student’ informationWill pursue School Intranet – having two parts
Information Provider … simple web pagesInformation Sharer … so interested parties can share files / modify them, etc.I hope to enhance the pages on Teaching & Learning
Teaching Review needs to continue, to address Part 3 / 4, the overlap on AI between CS and CY, the MSc provision.
