JUNE 2013 Ozark Mountain Parrot Head Finz Up Phlockers, What a great time to be a parrot head, it’s finally boating season!! Finally went to the lake over the holiday weekend and had a great time. I did not think winter would ever end…. Well members we are approaching our BUSIEST time of the year. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We have Birdies next week quickly followed by Phlock. Parrot Head Clubs have a motto, it’s Party With a Purpose, and the purpose is to raise money for charities. In or- der for us to be successful in our fund raisers it takes every mem- ber doing their part! Kelly Baldwin will be coordinating the volunteers again this year for Phlock, so let her know when and where you would like to contribute to this year’s event. WOW the May membership drive was very successful. Congrats to the winners who brought the most guests. You guys did a phantastic job!! Remember we are supporting the victims of the Moore OK tornado. An email was sent out to you last week detailing how you could help. I have received a couple of confir- mations but that’s all. I know you guys have big hearts and caring souls so please respond!! We live in the tornado belt too and may need help as well sometime. We have a lot going on this time of year—be sure to check out the cal- endar in this newsletter and get those events in your personal calen- dar so you don’t forget anything! It’s always a good time and we can always use the extra help. Contact Stayce Henry if you are able to give some of your time or if you would like to golf at this event. 3—Phlock Committee Meeting. Anyone wanting to help is welcome. 6PM at Big Whiskeys on W. Republic Rd. 6—OMPH General Meeting at Cody’s South. Social Hour begins at 5:30PM. 12—Phlock Committee Meeting. Last meeting before Phlock. Meet-ing time is 6PM at Big Whiskeys on W. Republic Rd. 15—OMPH Night at Rock Lane. This is the night OMPH members get to “let their pheathers phly”. The “party” before the party will be at the upper pool at Rock Lane. Phun and Phrivolity is ours the night before our “Party With A Purpose” begins. Anyone planning to be at Phlock this year is welcome to join us.
16 and 17—Phlock At The Rock. This years event at Rock Lane Re-sort will benefit Alzheimer’s. Planning is underway. If you wish to help out, please contact Stayce Henry.

OMPH is looking for Phriendly Phaces to host/hostess at a meeting. You MUST be able to arrive by 5:15PM the day of the meeting. Duties in-clude; welcoming all members and having them “sign in”, handing out raffle tickets,
and helping visitors. Host volun-teers will receive 5 FREE tickets to the Pony Races! If you are inter-ested in being a host or hostess at a meeting, please contact Chery Gardner.

Get ready for some PHUN at this years Phlock. Saturday night, OMPH will be having a Crazy Hat Contest to help raise money for his year’s charity. Creativity is key here….Think Kentucky Derby with a “tropical” flair. All you need to do is, make hat, wear it on Saturday night and collect your money. Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place. Each year our club has a logo contest for the Phlock tee shirt. The bored has voted on the theme and it is--- "I Just Had To Go Back To The Island" a line from the
Buffett song "Back to the Island". Here is a list of must haves that you should keep in mind when creating your masterpiece.
NO MORE than 6 colors—Black & White are colors and must be counted. Our theme, I Just Had To Go Back To The Island, must be in the artwork.
The words, 2013 Phlock at the Rock, must be listed as well as the club initials OMPHC or OMPH Club.
If you have a great idea but are not artistically talented you can have someone else create your masterpiece for you.

You can use any medium to create this work of art but in order to vote on our favor-ite at the June 6th meeting it must be in a non electronic form for that evening. All OMPH members at the June meeting will vote on their fave and we will announce a winner that evening! What did you say? Oh what does the winner receive? Well so glad you asked. As we have done in the past the winner will receive 2 free tickets to Phlock & 2 free tee shirts. And of course the pride and prestige of having your work of art on hundreds of tees being worn by the zaniest, phunest people ever!! Remember—your artistic rendering will be on the back of our Phlock shirts so keep that in mind, there's considerable landscape (space) back there. Well it's time to get creative—remember June 6th is the deadline! If you have any questions don't hesitate to give me a call.
