OWENS EXPRESS: A WINNING TRADITION

Owens baseball began briefly with a single season in 1966, but returned for good in the spring of 1994

under the direction of Dave Wagner. He led the team to a pair of NJCAA Division III National Tournament

appearances before departing after four years. For the next 5 years, Rich Pivoriunas led the program, including helping with the program’s transition to

the NJCAA Division II level. Following his departure, Bob Schultz coached the program through the 2010

season. He led the program to seven 30 win sea-sons, five OCCAC titles and a Region XII runner-up

finish in 2007. In recent years, the program has won the Sub-Region XII title two of the past three years.

Last year, under the direction of first-year head coach John Parisho, the team also finished third

in the Region XII tournament - the program’s best postseason finish since 2007.
