OWENS EXPRESS: A WINNING TRADITION

The 2015-16 year marks the 45th season of men’s basketball at Owens Community College. The

program began in 1966-67 under the direction of Cot Marquette, who coached what was then

known as Penta Technical College for four seasons. Following a five season absence, the program was restarted for the 1975-76 season under the name Owens Technical College. In

1993-94, it became Owens Community College. It is the oldest sport in the college’s history, the only program to win a national title and features

the most national tournament appearances in college history.
