AAPG’s Imperial Barrel Award Program(IBA) is an annual basin/prospectevaluation competition for geosciencegraduate students from universitiesaround the world

In this global competition, university teamsanalyze a dataset (geology, geophysics, land, economics, production infrastructure, andother relevant materials) in the 8 weeks priorto their local competition. Each team deliverstheir results in a 25 minute presentation to apanel of industry experts. Students have thechance to use real technology on a realdataset, receive the feedback from anindustry panel, have the opportunity toimpress potential employers in the audience.
