4-Day Ski/Snowboard Trip • 18-21 JanuaryIschgl, Austria$349 adults, $179 children Three overnights in a Ski-in/Ski-out guesthouse on the mountain side. A snow-cat will transport your luggage up the mountain to the guesthouse. Sunday evening we will meet in Ischgl for the best Après’ Ski fun Austria has to offer. Afterwards, the group meets in town for an evening ride up the mountain to the guesthouse in a snow-cat. Ski/Snowboard lessons are available upon request, by certi-fied PSIA and AASI Instructors. Departs Storck at 5 a.m. and Katterbach at 6 a.m., returns approximately 6 p.m. Sunday.

4-Day Ski/Snowboard Trip • 15-18 FebruarySki Amade, Austria$349 adults, $179 children This large system of ski resorts is conveniently intercon-nected with numerous ski lifts and public transportation options. With a single ski pass you can explore several ski areas in the beautiful Salzburgerland. Includes three overnights in an Austrian guesthouse with breakfast and dinner. Departs Storck at 8 a.m. and Katterbach at 9 a.m., returns approximately 6 p.m. Monday.

4-Day Overnight Heli Ski/Snowboard Trip • 15-18 MarchLauterbrunnen, Switzerland$575 Heli skiing, Swiss Guide, back-country gear$225 w/out helicopter flights Leave the lifts and the crowds behind on this exciting he-licopter ski/snowboard trip in the heart of the Swiss Alps. We load up the helicopters on Saturday morning in the Alpine village of Lauterbrunnen, fly up to the Ebnefluh 3,910m and follow our Swiss guide down to where we will meet our pilot again and fly up to the Petersgrat 3,200m, and then ski/ride back down to the valley floor. This trip is designed for skiers/riders with solid intermediate to advanced skills, although those who would prefer the more conventional ski lifts and groomed trails may join as well and ski/ride the slopes of Wengen or the Schilthorn. Non-skiers and sight-seers may also join and find plenty to do in the surrounding area. Departs Storck at 8 a.m. and Katterbach at 9 a.m., returns approximately 6 p.m. Monday.

3-Day Ski/Snowboard Trip • 5-7 AprilAustrian Glaciers$249 adults, $129 children Close out the winter season by participating in this ski/snowboard weekend trip to two of the Austrian glaciers that have the best snow conditions: Hintertux, Stubaital, Soelden or Pitztal. We will depart on Friday to spend the night in Haiming, Austria conveniently located in the foot-hills of the Austrian Alps. On Saturday and Sunday we will ski/snowboard a different glacier each day and on Monday morning we will depart for Ansbach. Departs Storck at 9 a.m. and Katterbach at 10 a.m., returns approximately 10 p.m. Sunday.

Weekly Anglers StammtischWednesdays, 12-6 p.m. Our weekly Stammtisch is designed as a way for our local Anglers to gather together and share ideas on dif-ferent events and outings; swap tall fishing tales; and to just have an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company. Wednesdays at the Pavilion on Soldiers Lake.

Monthly Jäger StammtischFirst Thursday of each month, 6-9 p.m. Are you a hunter and want the current news on upcoming hunts and changes in German Law? Join us for our month-ly Stammtisch to learn about the latest laws, upcoming hunts and outings and you can be a direct part of the planning process.

Hunting Course • 5 February -6 April 6-8 p.m., Tuesdays & Thursdays9-5 p.m. Saturdays (9, 23 Feb, 2, 9, 23 Mar) $150, additional costs for shooting range, ammunition Think it’s too difficult to hunt while stationed in Germany? Take the Outdoor Recreation Hunting Course and see how easy it is. This 60-hour course offered to US citizens 18 years and older teaches land management, game disease and harvest plans. Earn the right to hunt and own fire-arms. An additional fee is charged for the shooting range and ammunition. Additional Saturday training is required. Must be a Hunting, Fishing and Sport Shooting Club mem-ber ($15 year or $45 lifetime) to participate. Class meets at Katterbach Outdoor Recreation.

Ulm Shooting Cinema and Hunting & Fishing Fair$25 (for transportation) 16 February, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Join us on our annual outing to one of Europe’s premier indoor shooting cinemas and an absolutely amazing hunt-ing and fishing expo.

Spring Fishing Course • $65/person, $100/family 19 March, 6-9 p.m. and 20-21 March, 9-5 p.m. You must have a license to legally fish in Germany, to include our local fishing events. Take this 3-day Outdoor Recreation Fishing Course and be ready to fish next sea-son. This course is offered to all ID cardholders 14 years and older. Must be a Hunting, Fishing, Sport Shooting Club member ($15) to participate. Class meets at Katter-bach Outdoor Recreation.

Guided and Unguided HuntsTry your luck in one of our local hunting areas or some-thing a bit more exotic like Czechoslovakia, Poland, France, Austria or Africa! These can be arranged through our HFSS Coordinator upon request.

Sport Shooting Opportunities are available for Skeet and Trap, 100 Meter Rifle, Running Boar, Pistol Range and Archery.

Skills covered, de-pending on the ability of the students, will include equip-ment familiarization, sliding, edging and pressure control movements, rotary movements, balance, turning and stopping. Depending on the season’s snowfall and slope conditions, instruction will be conducted locally at Burgbernheim, between Ansbach and Illesheim. You’ll be able to learn the basics of the sport and apply these learned skills to a gentle slope and learn how to ride the lifts. All sessions will depart from Katterbach at 1 p.m., weather permitting.

alpine touring“Earn Your Turns”As an alternative to standing in lift lines at some of the resorts we’ll be visiting this season, take a pair of our state-of-the-art Alpine Touring Skis with Climbing Skins and make your own way up the mountain. Not only do you save the price of a lift pass, you’ll get a fantastic car-diovascular work-out amidst some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. Once atop the mountain, remove your climbing skins, put them in your backpack, lock down your bindings in alpine ski mode, and ski down enjoying every turn you’ve just earned.
