opinion or one in which the absence of the eoployee or dependent would

result in great personal hardship. "It:::lediate facily" is defined as the

mother or father of the ecployee or spouse, including s~epparents or

adoptive parents; the spouse ~f the e~ployee; or children of the e~~loyee

and/or spouse, incluein; stepchildren or aaoptive ch1l~rent regardless of

age.

(A) Crdinarily, only one !::e:::!ber of a

family cay travel at contract expense on such e=ergency visitation travel.

H~ever, there cay be exceptional circu~stances, such as a critical i~jury

to a dependent child attending schoJl outsi~e the post of assi£n~e~t, ~hich

for the cost of such travel shall be subject to a "deductihle" for each

round trip. If the ~ployee's basic salary is at or above the cinl=uo

scheduled rate for FSR-3 Agency personnel. the decuctible is $1;5. If

~he ecployep.'~ basic ~alary -at~ is abo~e the M4Xisuo ~cheduled rate for

an FSR-7 and bela~ the cinicuo sc~eduled rate of FSR-3. the deductible is

$125. If the ecployee's basic salary rate is at or below the raxinu~

scheduled rate for FSR-7. the deductible is $75. The eoployee vill prepare

and sign. prior to his or any deper.c~~t's departure froo post for energency

visitation travel. a stat~ent explaining the ~ergency for vhich traver

exp~se is to be authorize~. including the na=e. address. and relationship

to the ecployee or dependent of the ailing or dece~sed fa~ily menber.

Requests for ~ergency travel ~ay be gra~ted at contract expense. less

deductibles. o~ly on the basis of a certification by a licersed physician

that (1) the cecical cor.citior. of the patient is of such nature that. by

custo~ry practice of the ~edical profession in the locale ~~ere the condi-

tion is diagnosed and treated. it isco~sidcred such as to.~arrant the

(2) When, for any reason, the }tission Director,

detercines it is necessary to evacuate the Contractor's entire team (i.e.

ances ~hile en reute, for the cost of the ir-di~iduals going £=~ post of

(a) The Contractor shall notify the Ccntracting Officer reasonably 1n

advance of enteri~g into any subcontract ~hlch (1) is cost-reicbursenent

cype, time and eaterials. or labor-hour, or (2) is fixed-price type and

exceeds in dollar ~unt either $25,000 or 5 percent of the total ~sti-

mated cost of this contract, or (3) provides for the fabrication, purchase,

rental, installation, or other acquisition of special test equip~ent having

a value in excess of $1,000 or of any 1tecs of industrial facilities, or

(4) has expericental. develop~ental, or research ~ork as one of its

purposes.

(b) In the case of a proposed subcontract yhich is (1) cost-rei~burse~ent
