Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick at Mass On Sunday November 17th
Father Stan will be offering the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick following the 7 AM Mass. This Sacrament will be offered at various Masses in our parish again in subsequent months. The 1972 ritual indicates that this Sacrament is for “Christians whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age” “In the case of a person who is chronically ill, or elderly and in a weakened condition, the Sacrament of Anointing may be re-peated when in the pastoral judgment of the priest the condition of the sick person warrants the repe-tition of the sacrament.” People of all ages, includ-ing children, who suffer from a serious illness or are facing major surgery can be anointed.
A Sunday Gospel Reflections October 27th. – Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time Luke 19:1-10 Gospel Summary Children may know just how Zacchaeus felt in today’s Gos-pel story. Have you ever lifted your children to your shoul-ders so they might see over the crowds at a parade, waiting in a long line, or at a local sporting event? Zacchaeus was short and climbed a tree to get a better look at Jesus. Something surely stirred in his heart because it seems that he may have already given some thought to changing. Jesus reached out to Zacchaeus in friendship, and Zacchaeus responded with gen-erosity and true remorse. Reflection for Families Among our children’s playmates we may find some who try our patience. It may be that they come from different back-grounds or circumstances than our own family, and we may hold similar reservations regarding their parents. Perhaps to-day’s Gospel challenges us to encounter those who may be outcasts in a more loving way—as Jesus did. Bringing the Gospel into Your Family Imagine that Jesus has joined your family (you may even want to set an extra place for him at the table). What kinds of things would you want to talk about with Jesus? Do you have some questions to ask him? Are there some things that you would be willing to change about yourself or your family in order to respond to Jesus as Zacchaeus did? In your discus-sion, think of some occupations in our own time that would be hard to have and still live the way Jesus wants us to. Discussion Starters I need to forgive . . . Someone I know (of) repaid a debt like Zacchaeus when . . . Someone I need to reach out to even though he/she is different from me is . . .
Recent Deaths Our Condolences are extended to the family of
Leo Coleman
who has recently passed away. May the Lord bless him and keep him. May the Lord let His face shine upon him, and be gracious to him. Lord, look upon him kindly and
give him peace.
Dear Parishioners, If you are ever approached by anyone asking for help or money, please make sure that you refer them to the Parish Office, as we do have resources and funds to help them through our Social Ministry Department. Thank you.
Advent Giving Tree 2019
It's that time of year again to begin our Advent Outreach. The Giving Trees will be put up this week, one at each entrance of the church. Donations for children ages newborn through 12 years old can be dropped off at these locations during the week until December 1st. Volunteers will be needed to transport the gifts to Canisteo on Monday morn-ings, and for the delivery of the gifts. If you would be interested, please contact Mary Bossard for more information.

Regarding having a 5:30pm daily Mass on Thursday Yes, I would love it if we had a 5:30pm Mass on Thursday
NO, please leave all the daily Masses at 12:10. I cannot make it at 5:30pm
A Weekday Mass at 5:30 PM? Someone asked me if I would be willing to move one daily Mass a week to 5:30pm. I looked at my schedule and brought it to the Liturgy committee; and I could do that on Thursdays at 5:30 pm if that is what the people of the parish desired. So, I ask you to complete the form below and put it in the collection basket or get it to the office; or even send me an email to my email address in the bulletin. – Father Stan

Memorial Mass List for Deceased Parishioners of 2019 The Memorial Mass will be Sunday November 3rd, at the 10:30 Mass.
On November 2nd we celebrate the feast of All Souls. As Catholics, we celebrate the entire month of November as a month for remembering all those who have
gone before us. At the memorial mass a candle will be lit to honor the memory of each of the deceased parishioners listed below. These candles will continue to be lit at the celebration of Mass throughout the month. If there is anyone that you
think may be missing from the list please call the Business office and let us know. 324-5811
Merciful Father, hear our prayer and console us. As we renew our faith in Your Son, whom You raised from the dead, strengthen our hope that all our departed brothers and sisters will share in His resurrection, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
