Because there will be 14 other men who will be ordained at that Mass, each of them is only allowed to invite 12 people. Therefore, this ordination will not be opened to the public. Please keep Nazario in your prayers in these last few days leading up to his ordination to the sacred diaconate. May the Lord make Nazario a worthy servant of the Church. We will celebrate Nazario’s ordination to the diaconate after the Christ the King procession on Sunday, November 22 at 5:00 PM. Please come join in the festivities. 2) If you have been preparing to make a consecration to the Blessed Virgin, please come to the church on Saturday evening on November 21 at 7:00 PM for the service of Consecration to Our Lady. November 21 is the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Temple. When the Blessed Virgin was three years old, her parents Sts. Joachim and Anne dedicated her to God’s service in the temple of Jerusalem. What a beautiful and appropriate day to dedicate yourself to the Lord through the hands of our Holy Mother. 3) Next Sunday, November 22 we will celebrate the solemn feast of Christ the King of the Universe. One of the beautiful customs of this feast is to take our Eucharistic Lord into the streets in procession to show that He is indeed the King of kings and the Lord of lords of our own local community. Please make time to join the entire parish in the Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, November 22 at 5:00 PM beginning in the church. I wish that all four of our parishes in the county be represented. And then plan to stay afterwards to celebrate Deacon Nazario’s ordination to the diaconate. 4) Please pay attention to the Christmas Mass schedule that is already published inside the bulletin. I want to make sure you know about all the various Mass time options so that you can make plans with your family to attend Mass on Christmas. I especially hope that the extra options will alleviate the large crowd that usually comes for the 5:00 PM Vigil Mass. 5) Lastly, let us intercede for our nation through the powerful intercession of our patroness the Blessed Virgin, the Immaculate Conception: O Most Blessed and ever-Virgin Mary, you who are the Immaculate Conception and the patroness of our great nation. We fly to your motherly care: that you would pray for and intercede on behalf of our country, these United States of America. In these trying times, beg the Lord for us a unity in our nation that is grounded on truth, justice, and charity. As you crushed the head of the Ancient Serpent, protect us from every evil in our land that seeks to cloud the truth, to hinder justice, and to thwart charity. In your perfect faithfulness to God and our Lord Jesus Christ, you have become a champion and powerful warrior for the Kingdom of Light. Pray that this divine light will once again fill our land, so that the darkness of evil may be dispelled for good through Christ our Lord. Amen. Fr. Tommy

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

    1) Next Saturday, November 21 at 10:00 AM in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory, one of our own parishioners Nazario Hernandez will be ordained a Deacon of the Church! Angel Giving Tree If you are financially unable to provide Christmas gifts for your family this year, maybe we can help. Applications for assistance may be filled out at the Calhoun County Community Ministries office on 331 Alcoa Drive from 9:0.0 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The deadline is Tuesday, December 1 at 12:00 p.m.

Christmas at Sea Gift Boxes December 22 is the deadline for the shoebox gifts for Seafarers. Shoebox types that are acceptable are cardboard or plastic but not a boot box or children’s shoe box size. Christmas can be such a lonely time for them, especially being isolated because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and that they are also hundreds of miles away from home. For many of them the shoebox will be the only gift they receive while in Point Comfort over the holiday. Flyers available in the narthex of the church or parish office with a list of suggested items to include in the boxes.
