Day 1: Our pilgrimage to Mexico City begins as we depart from our local airport. On arrival, we will meet our tour guide and transfer to our hotel. Enroute we will visit Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine where our Spiritual Director will celebrate Mass. Next, hotel check-in. Dinner. Overnight Mexico City Day 2: is morning we visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, “e Patroness of the Americas.” We celebrate Mass in the brilliantly colored, modern Basilica dedicated in 1976. Join your prayers with those of other pilgrims as you kneel before the altar displaying the astounding Tilma, the sackcloth bearing the image of the Holy Virgin. We will also visit the Church of the Hill, Church of the Well, Monument of the Offerings and Church of the Indians. Dinner. Overnight Mexico City Day 3: Depart for Tulpetlac to celebrate Mass at the Shrine. is is the site of the 5th apparition of the Blessed Mother and the healing of St. Juan Diego’s uncle, Juan Bernadino. Will have the opportunity to drink water from this miraculous well. Afterwards, we journey to the Pyramids of Teotihuacan - “Place of the Sun and Moon”, where we’ll visit the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and other fascinating structures. Dinner. Overnight Mexico City Day 4: Full day excursion outside of Mexico City. We’ll visit Puebla to see St. Dominic’s Church called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” because of its scalloped gold leaf walls and ceilings. e colonial city of Puebla, known for its exquisite pottery. Travel back to Mexico City through spectacular mountains with a view of the two most famous peaks which are perpetually covered with snow. is is considered one of the most beautiful drives in Mexico. Dinner. Overnight Mexico City Day 5: Today we visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Tomb of Bish- op Zumarraga, who witnessed the vision of our Lady. Next we visite the National Palace and Museum, the main temple of the Aztecs. We lunch in the neighboorhood of Xochimilco known as the “Floating Gardens.” Following lunch, we’ll visite Santo Domingo, the first church built by the Dominicans in 1576. Housed within is the first rosary shrine in Mexico, Our Lady of the Rosary, and a second shrine, Our Lady of Covadonga. We’ll dine at the famous Focolare Restaurant, famous for its costumed entertainers and traditional Mexican cuisine. Overnight Mexico City Day 6: We cellebrate Mass at the Church where Blessed Fr. Miguel Pro, S.J. served. Fr. Miguel was martyred for his faith last century under the Calles Regime. We depart for the airport for our return flight home.
