Explore… Britain’s greatest collection of Roman mosaics, as they were laid 2,000 years ago. Marvel at the famous Cupid on a Dolphin mosaic and see if you can find the craftsman’s signature.

Discover… the unique story of the largest Roman home in Britain. Join one of our guided tours and see the Palace reconstructed to its former glory in our introductory film.

Glimpse… behind the scenes of the museum and see how conservators and curators care for the many treasures from the site.

Follow… in the footsteps of our Roman ancestors as you wander around Britain’s first garden, the lavish centrepiece of the Palace.

Enjoy… browsing in our shop which stocks a wide selection of souvenirs, jewellery and hand-crafted gifts.

Relax… in our café and enjoy freshly prepared lunches, cakes and a selection of teas and coffees.

Discover the SiteCome and explore this first century home and archaeological site. Marvel at the largest collection of early mosaic floors in Britain. Discovered in 1960, the north wing of this remarkable building is an important attraction for anyone interested in learning about Roman life, art and architecture. When visiting, learn about the Palace’s amazing story, from its construction in AD75 to its destruction by fire in the late third century........................................................................................

Collections Discovery CentreTake a look behind the scenes, either on your own or join one of our regular guided tours. The stores contain half a million artefacts, most of which have never been on public display. You can watch our conservators at work and gain the unique opportunity to see some parts of a museum that are normally hidden from public view.

As a registered charity your visit helps us look after the heritage of Sussex. You can also support us by becoming a member or making a donation. For full details about membership & all our properties visit our website.

Something for everyone…Something for everyone…

More to see, more to do!Gladiators!Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd July, 10am - 5pmThis summer enjoy the spectacle of Roman gladiators battling it out in the formal gardens at Fishbourne Roman Palace. For two days, members of re-enactment group Britannia will be on hand to share their skills, enthusiasm and knowledge of gladiatorial shows here in Roman Britain. During the weekend, there will also be a chance to try a wide range of hands-on activities, including net-making, tasting Roman food, games, fake wounds and trying your luck in the Gladiator School........................................................................................

Exploring the GardensDuring your visit, take a walk around the formal garden, which has been replanted just as it would have been nearly 2,000 years ago. Then visit the plants garden, showcasing a variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs, shrubs, dye and medicinal plants that were used in Roman times. Those with a keen interest in the gardens will enjoy the Gardens in Time event in May, and for an insight into the story of the gardens, from May to September, look out for regular tours by the museum staff.
