Performing Costumes. LEOTARD: The leotard is a unisex one piece undergarment which covers

the torso but leaves the legs free. The leotard was created by a famous French acrobatic performer Jules Léotard. Leotards are not just worn by Dancers but also by acrobats, gymnasts, figure skaters, athletics, actors and circus performers. Leotards are usually made out of Spandex or lyre.

Unitards are typically made out of polyester and other related fabrics.

Body Suit:In clothing, a bodysuit or body is a unisex form fitting garment that covers the torso. The bodysuit often has sleeves and varying collars. A bodysuit is distinguished from the similar leotard by the use of snaps or hooks at the crotch. Azzedine Alaia and Donna Karan helped make the body suit from the eighties fashion for both men and women. The body suit is usually made out of polyester, spandex or lyre.

They are usually made from stretchable material, such as lycra, chiffon, spandex (after 1959), leather, latex, PVC, or velour, and frequently close using a zipper at the front or back. Cat suits, which date from at least the 1940s, can be worn by both men and women, and, despite the name, do not generally have feline characteristics.

Skirts:

A skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped garment that hangs from the waist and covers all or part of the legs. In the western world, skirts are usually considered women's clothing. However, there are exceptions. The kilt is a traditional men's garment in Scotland, and some fashion designers, such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, have shown men's skirts.

Tops and T-Shirts:

Is a shirt which is pulled on over the head to cover most of a person's torso. A T-shirt is usually button less and collarless, with a round neck and short sleeves. T-shirts are typically made of cotton or polyester fibers (or a mix of the two), knitted together in a jersey stitch that gives a T-shirt its distinctive soft texture. T-shirt fashions include styles for men and women, and for all age groups, including baby, youth, and adult sizes.
