Overview of OTES PTA
• The PTA is an organization of families, teachers and staff who support our students and each other
• The PTA sponsors a variety of activities including:
• School Book Fair
• After-School Enrichment Programs
• Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
• Cultural Events and STEM via School assembles
• International Day
• Read-a-Thon
• Teacher Appreciation
• Teacher Appreciation
• Movie nights
• Social events
• Spring Festival
• School Garden
• Other forms of school support

After-school enrichment activities
• The PTA sponsors a variety of after-school programs throughout the year
• The programs seek to supplement classroom learning and have included language (French, Chinese, Spanish), arts (music, studio arts), movement (basketball, yoga) and chess
• Information on dates, times and registration on the PTA website www.oaklandterracepta.com/pta-programs/after-school-programs/

2020-2021 Activities and Budget
• This year’s activities and focus areas will be adapted to the circumstances (e.g., online social events; focus on topics and issues of interest)
• A meeting to approve the incoming PTA Board members and the budget will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 6:30 PM in the Homewood Park parking lot. (In-person approval is required by the Maryland State PTA; social distancing and mask protocols will be observed.)
• Activities and the budget will be discussed in detail during an online PTA meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 PM. Come share your ideas and input!

How to become a PTA member (or renew your membership)
• Go to the PTA website www.oaklandterracepta.com• Under “Support the PTA,” select “Join or Renew,” follow the
links to MemberHub to donate and create your PTA member profile.
• Member dues are essential to support PTA activities!• Membership is donation-based… Select the amount that
works for you and your family. Any amount is appreciated!• Email [email protected] with any questions!
Once in MemberHub...
• Automatically receive emails about PTA activities!
• Update your account and check all your information is
accurate. You might need to add your students to your
account or other emails.
• Check out the “Join Hubs” in the top menu bar and sign up
to help with events.
• The Dashboard will list all the latest updates.

Other ways to support the PTA
● Serve as an activity chair or help organize an event: Sign up on
MemberHub.

● Dinner out: The PTA periodically organizes fundraisers with local
restaurants to raise funds.
● Box Tops for Education: Located on the package of many items you

● Silent Auction: Organized each spring to raise funds for the PTA

● Attend monthly PTA meetings 7 PM the first Tuesday of the
month

Mark your calendar
• Meeting to approve the incoming PTA Board members and the
