Jules Joseph Quote – “To be successful music artist, you can’t have it all your own way” Which rapper influenced you the most growing up? Julzy: I would say 2-Pac because you could tell that he really like his music, he had so much passion in his music and determination to get to the top of the music pyramid. From your point of view who is the most successful grime artist today and why? Julzy: I would say my boy Tinie Tempah because he has the most sold albums for a grime artist, he has featured on a number of other artists’ songs such as Labrinth’s Earthquake and Swedish House Mafia song Miami 2 Ibiza. Tinie Tempah success has made the Grime industry become more popular. How do you separate yourself from other artists? Julzy: What makes me different from other grime artists is that I try and mix my rap with some vocals, I know it’s not very common as a grime artist to show some vocals but I think it makes me standout from the rest. You get what am saying? Who would you like to work with in the future? Julzy: I would love to work with Drake or Kendrick Lamar, I would also like to work with my fellow grime artists Stormzy or Figure flows. I know the music will be dope. How involved are you in the recording, producing, marketing and other processes needed to make and sell your music? Julzy: When it comes to recording am 100% involved as wanna know whats going on behind the scenes and that, the same goes for the marketing as I love having a close connection with my fans becuase they are like my family. In terms of the producing side of things am not as active, I’m probably 50% to 60% involved because my squad are sick at what they do. Apart from that my manager has suggested

Apart from that my manager has suggested that I should read more books in order to build up my vocabulary, in case the readers don't understand my answer.

Who do you think has won the diss battle between Drake and Meek Mill?

Julzy: I would say that my boy Drake is just edgeing it because of his lyrical flow and his metaphors that he uses. Drake is a bossman.

Julzy: Sometime in June this year, we haven't sorted out a date yet because the album is not complete.

This is your first studio album, how to do feel?

Julzy: Am over the moon because I’ve been working so hard on this album because this is my first one and if this album does well which I think it will do, then this will catch the eye of a lot of people and who knows what can happen from there. For me your first album is probably the most important one because the album shows to the rest of the world who you are as an artist and I know people change as they grow older so it’s important to set a mark at the beginning.

What is your album about?

Julzy: My album is about my childhood, as a kid growing up in England was hard, I found it hard to socially mix with other students and back in my day you received more racial abuse than you do now. Thank God. In my school there was a group of black kids who were in my year and they told me to chill and hang out with them, which I did but I never felt truly accepted at the start because they would always ask me to steal stuff which I did because I wanted to fit it. However this all change one day when they ask if I could spit bars and I said yeah and they were like spit some bars, when I started rapping they looked amazed because they thought I was just a wanna be roadman. That’s when it all took off really and they told me to come with them after school to go spit bars in rap battles which I did and then I started to get known more and more. That’s all am going to say, I think I’ve said too much already.

What’s your favourite song on the track?

Julzy: To be honest I like all of them, but I know some songs will get more attention than others.

Any final shout-outs?

Julzy: YEAH! Shouts to Maney, John, Freda, Melanie, Jayzous, Tarek, Edwina Scissorflaps, O.A.B, STB and link up Tv!

I gotta say thanks to the fam and my label who made this dream all possible.
