Happy Spring and welcome back MCA Members to the 2018-19 camping season. I
hope everyone had a safe and warm winter and that all are well. I hope everyone is
as excited as I am to get back to camp. There has been a steady stream of things
going on behind the scenes as there is every year to get the park ready to open. Our
employees are of the highest caliber and work very hard for our membership. My
fellow Board of Directors and the Member Volunteers that help out even in the win-
ter have also been working hard to provide fun and activities for all of us. They will
inform you of the upcoming activities that they and their committee's have started
working on for you. As we say every year, the things going on that you pay for could
still not be accomplished without the hard work of our volunteers. The cost to be a
member at MCA could and would be much higher without our volunteers. Hopefully
you will be able to donate a little time to help provide all with fun and activities this
year. It can be as much or as little time as you want to donate, and would be appre-
ciated by all. So, let's all arrive safely at MCA, open our camps and get ready for the
fun!

As one of your D Sections Representatives, and the Secretary for the Board of Direc-
tors, I would like to welcome everyone back for another wonderful year at MCA. As
you already know, there are numerous projects that have begun last year and are
being finalized. We have appreciated your patience during these projects and hope
that you take the time to thank Jon and our maintenance team for all their hard
work during the winter months.
I want to thank everyone in D section that took the time to reelect me as one of your
Board of Directors. I take this job very seriously and again, will do everything I can
to vote for the members and voice their concerns. I am always available to talk
about any concerns you may have and answer questions to the best of my
knowledge. I would rather be confronted with your questions and take the time to
answer them in person than hearing rumors. I ran for the board to make a differ-
ence. Not just a difference in my own section, but for all of MCA as a whole.
Mike Grady - Secretary / D-Section Representative / Sports, Architectural, Nominations & Elections Liaison
Welcome campers! It was a very busy off-season as we spent many countless hours
negotiating contracts and researching insurance options for our employees, along
with planning many upcoming and ongoing projects.
As you are all aware, the 2018-2019 budget was passed and approved at the
March BOD meeting with an increase of $60. The entire Budget committee worked
very hard this year to keep the increase to a minimum. I would like to thank every-
one involved in continuing to make MCA a better place for our members.
By the time you will be reading this, we will be heavily involved in our yearly audit. It
is a very busy and important time of the year. Myself, along with the office manager,
bookkeeper, audit & budget committees, all come together to ensure that every-
thing is in order. This year we have a new Auditing firm from the Grove City area;
McGill Power Bell. The final report and Financial Statement will be shared at our
annual meeting on Sunday, July 8.
If anyone is interested in the obtaining a copy of any of the Budget reports and/or
meeting minutes, please stop by the office and request a copy for a nominal charge.
I would like to take a moment to thank all of the members who took the time to
complete the insert that was included with your Due’s Notice. This helps us main-
tain our database and keep all of our files up to date for the 4 regular mailings that
are distributed each year. It is your responsibility to keep your personal data up-to-
date, pay your dues in a timely basis and updating any optional assessments that
may change on your Lot.
In June, we will be sending out an Invoice to those who have an outstanding bal-
ance to help ensure a timely payment before the July 1 lockout date and we begin
the proceedings to the Magistrate. Reminder, if there are any questions or con-
cerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me – C-012 or via email at

Your Feedback is Important!
Welcome back to the 2018 Camping Season! The Board of Directors has been
meeting all winter, trying to come up with plans of action for continued improve-
ment and upkeep of our campground. Sometimes it is hard to see all the work that
goes on over the winter just to keep the campground running. Many thanks to our
maintenance crew and many volunteers who work so hard to keep MCA beautiful.
In keeping with that thought, there comes a time when we need to hear from the
general membership on items regarding campground upkeep, improvement, activi-
ties and services. Enclosed with this newsletter you will find a brief membership
survey. Please take 5-10 minutes to fill it out and let us know how we are doing
and what we can do better. This is our campground, so we want to hear from as
many as we can to make sure our budget, your dues, are going to what is important
to you. Thank you for taking the time.
The survey is on pages 13 and 14. Please detach from the newsletter and return
to the office, or put into the mail.

F RO M B S E C T I O N I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to the new camping sea-
son of 2018. Our maintenance crew Jon, Dave, Tyler, and Dylan have been working
hard to complete our camp projects before the season starts and will continue the
daily upkeep through out the year. Please give them a wave and a thank you for
their efforts. Plenty of events are planned for us by all our committees, so please try
to support, and if you have time, volunteer to help at any of the scheduled events.
I give my yearly plea to please conserve electricity. If you are not using it, turn it off.
Be diligent, when you are leaving camp turn off your A/C, TV, radio, and all lights
inside and out. We all need to contribute to this effort to stop the misuse of our
electricity.
I’m hoping you all have a fun and enjoyable camping season this year. If you have
any questions or problems you can contact me at lot B-6. I will do all I can to an-
swer or solve your concerns. Thank You.

Hi all! I hope everyone is ready for a great camping season filled with new and old
activities. Our new committee members have been hard at work preparing their
events to suit all of our members. Sunday May 27 a small group of MCA members
are planning the MCA "Stronger than the Storm" pig roast fundraiser for our fire vic-
tims. Stay tuned for more info on this event!
Please take notice of the 2 scrolling LED boards that were purchased by last year's
Lake committee. One sign is located at the office and the other is located at the A-
frame. These boards will be used to keep members updated on activities going on
throughout the camp, and any important information that we need to get out quickly
to our members.
Earlier this year the BOD created an Informational page on Facebook, please search
for MCA BOD Informational page on Facebook and join. Please note you must be a
lease holder to view this page. The page was created to keep our members in-
formed about our monthly board meetings, meeting minutes and other information
that members may be interested in knowing. Our members voted us in to these po-
sitions and I want to keep all members informed.
This year I am excited to be Liaison for the Teen, Inspection and Publicity commit-
tees; I also serve on these committees as well. I look forward to working with all
members and encourage members to come to me with any problems, questions or
issues even if you are not in D section. If I can’t get you an answer or a solution, I
will reach out to my colleagues and get your issue resolved, and your questions an-
swered. I strive to have an "open door policy" so don't be afraid to challenge me. I
wish everyone a fantastic, memorable, safe season.
Ellie Christopher - D Section Representative / Inspections, Publicity, Teen Committee Liaison.
It’s time to get back to
the summer fun!
During the winter, the
Wifi committee has been
working through the de-
tails with Armstrong to
bring fiber optic internet
into the camp and we are
targeting July for installa-
tion. It is going to be a
big job so I beg everyone
to please be patient.
There will be times when
the net will be down and
we will do our best to
keep everyone notified.
We are confident that the
many upgrades will give
everyone more reliability
and speed. Reminder;
the committee does not
do hook-ups or mainte-
nance on holiday week-
ends. We will be enjoying
the fun with our families
and friends just as you
will be. I thank everyone
who has signed up for
another year of Wifi, and
those who have joined
the committee. We ap-
preciate everyone and if
you have any questions
please feel free to con-
tact us at
call 724-374-4106. I
personally look forward to
seeing everyone this
summer and all the fun
that has yet to come.

Welcome H Section members to the 2018 camping season. Once again, it is time
to clear away the remnants of fall and watch for the subtle signs of spring sprouting
from the landscape and trees. I just wanted to say "Hello" and remind all that I am
here to assist you with your questions and concerns. Respectfully,
Keith Edwards - H Section Representative / Church Liaison
Hello campers. 2018, what a relief, winter is finally over, spring is here and we all
know what needs to be done. Please again remember that volunteers are what
makes the wheels go round. So if you can, do. Sign up for a project, get a friend
and pitch in. The satisfaction will be rewarding enough.
It may not be apparent, but many things were accomplished this winter and the
things that weren't should be completed soon. Most of all start to enjoy this sea-
son, start a fire and have friends over, come up play bingo or just get involved.
With everyone’s help this could be “The Year to Remember”. Please offer your help
to make "MCA the Place to Be"

Well, Happy Spring to all.
I hope this newsletter
finds you all drying out
after a grueling never
ending lingering winter.
This year, I am the In-
spection committee
Chairperson and would
like for it to be a seam-
less transition.
A Spring reminder; If you
had an air conditioner,
extra refrigerator or an
electric golf cart on your
assessments last year
and no longer have them,
it is your responsibility to
advise the office of your
changes. Once they have
been inspected and veri-
fied, they will then be re-
moved from your assess-
ments. Failure to com-
plete this process will still
hold you responsible for
these payments and late
fees.
Happy Spring Cleaning.

LEASE
VIOLATIONS The BOD has been paying close attention to Lease
Violations. Many letters were sent during the off sea-
son to those who we suspected may have been us-
ing camp as a residence. Some of those issues have
been cleared up, some are still pending. You may
not use your camp as a permanent residence.
The Board is unanimous in our decision to take ac-
tion on those in violation of their lease. We have and
are continuing to develop policies to take action in
these manners.

LADIES ROOM REMODEL: The long wait is almost over! The newly remodeled ladies bathroom and showers at the
A-Frame will soon be open. This project was delayed by some problems that were out of our control from the begin-
ning and I will shoulder the responsibility and apologize to the members for the delay. I am sure everyone will be
pleased with the hard work that has been done on this project. Jon, David, Dylan, and Tyler have done an outstand-
ing job with the demolition and the roughing in of new plumbing and now the finishing touches. I would also like to
extend our grateful thanks on behalf of MCA members to our friends Tim Murray, Timmy Lipinski and crew for the
cement work on the floor (they also did the men's room a few years back). I would also like to thank our friend Kir-
tus S. (he wants to remain anonymous) for the material and tile work that he provided to us. These folks will proba-
bly be mad at me for mentioning them in this article, but we are proud to have had them contribute their expertise
in helping us achieve the final results and I think that they deserve a little recognition. Actually, all our volunteers
deserve recognition, so thanks to all of them!
CEMENT PROJECT: The BOD approved the renovation of the cement walkways and sidewalks in front of the A-
Frame building to be ADA compliant. This project was also delayed due to weather and scheduling. It will turn out
beautifully I am sure, if it isn't done already by the time you are reading this.
STREET SIGNS: We are going to place new street signs throughout the park that will include the MCA logo. This is
necessary for emergency responders and it will add to the overall revitalization of the park. We have a couple vol-
unteers that are going to use their equipment to cut out all the reflective lettering and apply to the green back-
ground. A rough draft was reviewed by the BOD recently and everyone seemed to like it. We are currently search-
ing out pricing for the material and this will probably be one of those projects that will get done a little at a time
over the summer as it involves 145 street signs on poles cemented into the ground. We will keep you updated as
the project progresses.
WATER PLANT: The annual shutdown and cleaning of the water plant has been completed. This is now mainte-
nance scheduled and must be done on a yearly basis. The building of this plant a few years back was expensive
and we need to protect our investment. Unfortunately, this year as we were almost completed, we had a small fire
caused by a faulty fan. The quick response by our crew kept it from being worse. Minor damage has been and is
being repaired and no system controls or equipment were damaged or touched by fire. As a precaution, all tanks
were again drained, cleaned and refilled. Jon scheduled a new water test so we would be sure of no contamination
in the water and recently informed us that we received a clean bill of health on the VOC test. Thanks again Jon for
taking care of this.
SEWAGE PLANT: Up and running! This will be our first full year with the plant, so we will be closely monitoring all
the functions and controls to make sure everything is running smoothly. We still have a few things that need done
down there, but it is all basically cosmetic.
NEW WELL: The BOD is exploring our options for a new water well that will eventually need drilled as the casing in
one of our wells is collapsing and we will need a new source. We have hired a geologist to conduct a feasibility
study and to recommend a drilling site for the future. We have also been informed that a large aquifer in the Slip-
pery Rock area may extend all the way down to our land and If this pans out, we would have no water worries for
years to come. More information to come when the study is done.
LIGHTING: You will notice that we are installing new LED
energy saving lights and poles in the A-Frame area, and on
the back of the A-Frame by the rest rooms. This is to light
the area for safety reasons and is part of the BOD's revitali-
zation plan for the park and should be installed before the
season opens.

MCA has 5 vehicles with an average age of 16.8 years old. Two of the vehicles have current vehicle inspection
stickers and the other 3 vehicles are for in-camp use only. The vehicle budget established for 2017 had doubled
by the end of March this year, due to costly repairs to return 2 vehicles to safe operating condition. These purchas-
es included a used truck bed, an intermediate exhaust pipe that included a catalytic converter, battery, brake cali-
per, power steering pump and axle shaft u joint. While the bed was being replaced, the fuel pump, fuel-filler neck
and shock absorbers were also replaced.
MCA’s employees and membership’s safety are just several factors taken into consideration when making repairs
to the vehicles. The camp vehicles have several useful years of service left with cost- effective repairs and regular
routine maintenance.

Last year some of the guys were talking about possibly having a golf tournament
against Slippery Rock Campground. If we get enough people interested, we will try
to make it happen. We are also thinking about having a Corn Hole Tournament and
if we can get enough people interested we will do that too.
We have also been looking into cleanup and repairs to the Bocce Courts. If you
have any time and would like to help, please let us know.
I wish everyone a fun and happy camp season.

Welcome back MCA Campers.
The new Social Committee has started for the 2018 season. On our committee is
George and Bridget Mills, Tricia Ann Roberts and our Social Liaison is Art Knox. We
are all excited and anxious to get started for the season and have set up many
events. We all look forward to making some great memories with yinz or ya'll “lol”.

Coming up for Social is bingo, many dances with DJ's and bands, a Homecoming
dance in June, an Adult Pool Party, Fireworks in July with the parade, dance and a
couple of Painting Parties.
We as your Social Committee would like to do our best to enhance your camping
experience this year and enjoy time with your family and friends. One thing we
would ask of every camper this year is to please, contact and communicate with us
personally on what you like or don't like about an event and share any ideas or sug-
gestions. Facebook and Social Media breaks true communication and we are volun-
teering our time to help create fun for everyone.
We hope to see you at one or all the events around camp this season,
