Dear Valued Business Owner, Operation Playground Foundation is seeking sponsors for the 2 nd Annual Pours for Parks Craft Beer Tasting. Operation Playground Foundation (OPF) is a 501C3 organization dedicated to improving Frankfort’s Parks and enhancing life through recreation. The Foundation’s current project is to install the Judy Herder Memorial Pump Track which is a modular track that can be used bikes, skate boarders, inline skaters and just about anything with wheels! Through generous sponsors and donors, the track has been ordered and is estimated to arrive in September of this year. Past projects funded by the Operation Playground Foundation include Fort Frankfort, the Bark Park, the 3 on 3 Basketball Courts, and the exercise equipment along the Old Plank Trail. The Foundation has also contributed $6,000 to Lincolnway Special Recreation Association. No monies raised by the Foundation support operational expenses of the Frankfort Park District. The Foundation is working to raise funds for the remaining portion of the pumptrack project which includes site amenities, signage and the cost to install a path to connect the pumptrack to the Old Plank Trail. The path costs are estimated at $25,000 which includes design and installation. Since the track is modular, it can be laid in the turf and the path can be added at a later date. The Foundation is planning to host the 2 nd Annual Craft Beer Tasting on Saturday, October 20 at the Founders Center. The upcoming event will include craft beer tastings, food and entertainment from River Road Trio. There is excitement for the Judy Herder Memorial Track which will celebrate Judy’s legacy and provide a new recreational opportunity for all ages to enjoy. The Foundation is hopeful you will consider supporting the project by sponsoring the event or consider making a donation directly to the Judy Herder Memorial Pumptrack fund. At the “Growler” level sponsorship, we invite you to attend the event and assist with pouring alongside certified bartenders. This is a great opportunity to engage with the community. Operation Playground Foundation is a registered 501c3. Past projects funded by Operation Playground Foundation include Fort Frankfort, the Frankfort Bark Park, the 3 on 3 Basketball Courts at Main Park, and the exercise facility at Michelle Bingham Park.
Operation Playground Foundation hosted the inaugural Craft Beer Tasting event in 2017 to raise funds for the Judy Herder Pumptrack. The Foundation has met the goal to purchase the track!!! The track will be located at Indian Boundary Park and will be a 200 ft. course that is made of maintenance free composite material. The track is suitable for bikes, skateboards, roller blades and scooters which will serve all ages! The funds raised from this years’ event will be used to complete the project which includes signage for the site and the cost of the asphalt path to connect the track to the Old Plank Trail.
The event will be held Saturday, October 20th at the Founders Community Center from 3:00-7:00 pm and will include 10 - 3oz pours, beer tasting glass and entertainment. Food will be available for purchase.
