• Komitee Jag:- 15 tot 19 Julie 2020 Soos elke jaar, gaan ons weer probeer om belangstelling te wek by Takjagte en Toppie jag waar die lede dan ŉ subsidie ontvang om gedeelte van die kostes te dek. Die bedrag van die subsidie word deur die komitee bepaal, afhangend van die inkomste wat uit die lootjie jag en ander moontlike promosies ingewin word.

Deelname word gebaseer op die volgende:-

i) 5 jagters minimum. ii) Deposito van R500-00 wanneer jy bevestig dat jy sal gaan. iii) As die jag deur die tak gekanselleer word, word jou deposito terugbetaal. iv) As die lid op die laaste minuut onttrek sonder geldige rede, word die deposito

verbeur. Ons gaan weer poog om vroeg in 2020 weer ŉ paar jagplase voor te stel, waar lede dan hulle name op die lyste kan sit. Deposito’s word slegs verlang wanneer die pryse/plase ens. die lede geval en ons minimum van 5 jagters het. ŉ Leier sal dan uit die groep aangewys word. Indien enige lid van ŉ jagbestemming weet wat ŉ groep toppies, ander lede of selfs nuwe jagters kan hanteer, hoor ons graag van julle.

Maandelikse Skiet Ons oefen weer op Rooikraal hierdie Saterdag 5 Oktober 2019 vanaf 7:00. Onthou baangeld is R110 en ons het nie kleingeld nie. Hunting handguns tables as well as the .22 long rifle will be part of the activities. Geen alkohol word op die baan toegelaat nie. dan skiet ons hulle ook. Ghong skiet 2019: Hiermee nooi ons jou graag uit om deel te neem aan die Oosrand tak se jaarlikse Ghong skiet afsluitings funksie op Saterdag 16 November 2019. Ek sal nader aan die tyd die presiese reëlings, tye, plek, kaart en nodige inligting deurgee aan diegene wat ingeskryf het. Die voorlopige reëlings is as volg: Ons bied saam met die Duiker Tak van Balfour 'n veld ghong skiet & braai aan @ R250/persoon by Heidelberg. Ongeveer 60km vanaf die Kempton Park omgewing. Die braai funksie vind plaas by die Heidelberg gholfbaan se buiteklub. Vure, braaivleis en bykosse word verskaf. Jy mag NIE jou eie drank bring NIE. Ons koop drankies by die klubhuis. Hulle drank pryse is baie redelik. Sluitings datum Vrydag 8 November 2019 !!! Vir inskrywingsvorm, stuur asb. vir Charl 'n e-pos by: [email protected] Die inskrywings werk GLAD NIE op SMS of WhatsApp NIE. Ek gaan die aantal deelnemers waarskynlik beperk tot 200 vir die Ghong Skiet. Ons werk maar op "first come, first served" basis. Junior Nasionale skiet kompetisie Graag wil ek elke ouer bedank wat hulle tyd opgeoffer het om die juniors na die jaarlikse Junior Nasionale skiet kompetisie te neem.

Baie geluk aan die volgende juniors wat onder die top 3 gekom het. Ryan Myburgh 1ste Randslag bankrus skietoefening 3de Randslag skietoefening (lê, sit en staan) 3de Lugdruk skietoefening (lê, sit en staan) Megan Myburgh 3de Randslag bankrus skietoefening

Ons Junior tak skiet vind plaas op 5 Oktober 2019 te Rooikraal, en ons nooi al ons juniors tussen die ouderdom van 6 en 18 jaar om die dag saam met ons te kom deurbring. Ons kom reeds 7 vm op die 50m baan bymekaar.

Daar is baie juniors wat nog nie by ons ingeskakel het nie, en ek doen ‘n beroep op al die ouers om julle kinders te kom laat deelneem. Ons het lugdruk gewere beskikbaar vir die juniors indien hulle nie, hulle eie besit nie.

Graag wil ek vra dat die ouers wat juniors het wat wil kom skiet, hulle nommers aan my sal deurgee sodat u op hoogte van ons aktiwiteite kan hou.

25 Biggest things on earth - Continued Many people find it difficult to grasp life in all its diversity: not only the birds, reptiles and mammals that

everyone knows and love, but also viruses, bacteria, protists, invertebrates, and trees and fungi. On the

following images, you'll go on a guided tour of the biggest organisms on Earth, ranging from a giant (by

microscopic standards) virus, to the very large animals you know so well already. Here is the next part

from the list from 11 to 15.

1) Biggest Jellyfish - The Lion's Mane (100 Feet Long)

With its six-foot-diameter bell (in the largest individuals) and tentacles that can

exceed 100 feet, the lion's mane jellyfish is to other jellyfish as the blue whale is

to other cetaceans. Considering its size, though, the lion's mane jellyfish isn't all

that poisonous (a healthy human can easily survive a sting), and it also serves an

important ecological function, as various fish and crustaceans cluster under its

huge bell. Fittingly enough, the lion's mane jellyfish is a favorite food source of

another plus-sized animal on this list, the leatherback turtle.

2) Biggest Flying Bird - The Kori Bustard (18.14Kg)

At up to 18Kg for the biggest males, the kori bustard pushes right against

the limits of aerodynamics — this isn't the most graceful bird in the world

when it takes off, and it can't flap its wings for more than a few minutes at

a time. In fact, while it will briefly take flight when threatened, the kori

bustard spends most of its time on the ground of its southern African

habitat, squawking loudly and eating pretty much anything that moves.

3) Biggest Protist - The Giant Kelp (33m Long)

Many people mistakenly believe that there are only four categories of life — bacteria,

plants, fungi and animals — but let's not forget the protists, primitive eukaryotic

organisms that tend to join in extended structures. Somewhat surprisingly, all seaweeds

are protists, and the biggest seaweed of them all is the giant kelp, which can grow up to

2 feet per day and attain lengths of more than 100 feet. As you can imagine, kelp forests,

which incorporate numerous giant kelp "individuals," are gigantic, tangled affairs that

provide safe havens for numerous unrelated marine organisms.

4) Biggest Flightless Bird - The Ostrich (136 Kg)

The Ostrich (struthio camelus) is a member of a group of birds known as ratites,

that is they are flightless birds without a keel to their breastbone. Of the 8,600 bird

species which exist today, the ostrich is the largest. These huge birds, which

sometimes reach a height of 2.6 m and cannot fly, but are very fast runners.

5) Biggest Snake - The Green Anaconda (227 Kg)

Compared to the other organisms on this

list, snakes are notoriously difficult to classify according

to size: even trained naturalists have a tendency to

overestimate the size of the snakes they observe in the

wild, and it's nearly impossible to transport a dead

(much less living) giant python to civilization to

perform detailed measurements. That said, most

authorities agree that the green anaconda of South

America is the current title-holder; this snake can

attain lengths of more than 15 feet, and well-attested

individuals have been known to hit the 500-pound

mark.

ERSG Year End Function: – We would like to invite you to our Year End Function on 30 November 2019. Venue: Wattlesprings Sport Shooting Club Discipline: 50 clays sporting Cost: R250 including the 50 clays and lunch, additional meals at R100 each. Raffle: There will be a liquor raffle on the day, each entry will be R50. Please bring your family. Children welcome, Wattlesprings has a lovely playground to keep them busy. You are more than welcome to order a kiddies meal from the menu rather than paying for an additional adult. Please come and join us for a fun day. Resep vir die maand. Gestopte Patrys

Bestanddele 6 Groot patryse Vulsel 250g broodkrummels 250g wit sampioene fyngekerf 1 groot ui, blokkies gekerf 1 klein blikkie sampioene 10ml braaivleis speserye 100ml rooiwyn van keuse 50ml Dijon mosterd 50ml botter of olie 1 pakkie aspersie roomsop (hoender werk ook) Aangemaak met 200ml kookwater Sout en peper na smaak Metode Meng die broodkrummels, sampioene en ui saam en stop die patryse met die vulsel. Werk toe met naald en tou.

Plaas in kasserol bak en voeg speserye en ander bestanddele by en laat prut tot sag. Verwyder deksel en bedruip kort-kort tot mooi bruin. Bedien met kapokaartappels en vars mengelslaai. Eet en Geniet!
