Once again, FERMATOR, the Spanish multi-national door manufacturer has good cause to cele-brate. Following the recent lift exhibition in Barcelona held in May, Fermator took the opportunity to invite almost five hundred guests to visit their latest manufacturing facility opened at Falset. The new factory named DMT is located some 20 km from the main manufacturing facility at Reus and has a total production area of 70,000 sq feet, with the latest high tech machinery enabling annual produc-tion of 120,000 doors.

This inauguration was an ideal opportunity for the visitors to enjoy Fermator’s hospitality, meet with many friends in the industry from all parts of the world and take the opportunity to view the enormous manufacturing facility at Reus before going on to inspect the new premises at Falset. The celebra-tions kicked off with a dinner at the local Yacht club in Salou, the evening progressed with flamenco dancers and live music.

Entertainment at the Reus Factory

The next day the revellers continued the celebrations, meeting up in a huge marquee in the grounds of the Fermator factory to take breakfast together before embarking on guided tours around the high tech automated factory. A great deal of interest was shown in the section where all the component part both electrical and mechanical are subjected to rigorous uninterrupted testing to ensure reliability and quality in all the range of doors produced.

The five hundred guests were transported to the new facility. This new factory joins the others in the manufacturing line for Fermator based in Reus, Spain, Greece, China, Brazil and India. One differ-ence is the Falset factory, DMT is dedicated to the manufacture of the standard range of products for high volume lift producers throughout the world.

An area of the factory was set aside for cocktails and other refreshments before sitting down for an excellent lunch.

Fermators’ sole distributor for the UK, Global Lift Equipment, was in attendance with a number of guests to pass on their congratulations and support for Fermators’ ongoing worldwide success.

A number of Fermators’ distributors gave brief speeches including one by Greg Bladon of Global Lift Equipment. The common theme of all those in attendance was the general feeling that Fermator owe much of their success to the enthusiasm and commitment of their staff. Ramon Gomis, the General Manager of Fermator thanked the staff, clients and their distributors for all their continual support and loyalty and especially thanked all those in attendance for making the trip from more than 50 countries around the world.
