WORD on the
STREET Tulip Street Christian
Church MARCH 2020
Wednesday, April 1 at 6pm @ Woodville Baptist Church There will be NO meal or activities on this night at TSCC.
This powerful presentation, shared by Ofer Levy, from Jews for
Jesus, will demonstrate the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples. All are invited to join together for a explanation of the beautiful symbolism
of the Jewish ceremony called a seder. The words “do this in remembrance of me” will take on an even deeper meaning to Christians as we learn the significance of the
tradition Jesus observed the night before He died and give us a closer look at the very Jewish life He led.

Easter is coming! Spring is coming! It is quite exciting to think of both of those things. This winter hasn’t been to rough on us, and that is blessing, but longer days, warmer temperatures, and the rebirth of flowers and grass and leaves remind us of the Easter story, as well! I hope that as we approach these weeks leading up to Easter, you are reminded of what your salvation cost. That’s not to load guilt upon you, but to think through the gift you’ve been given. We so easily get distracted by this world, as if it was all there was. We say we have faith in Christ, but sometimes, our lives just don’t reflect that. We are called to be holy – that’s not just the preacher telling you to be good, that’s God’s Word, inspired by God to teach us and correct us and keep us aligned with Him – God says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:44; 1 Peter 1:16). Easter is a time that reminds us that we were bought at a price, and that we are also bought for a purpose, and that purpose is to glorify God with our lives in a way that brings others into a saving relationship with God through Christ – the whole point of Easter!
A Word from Jim

So let’s all do a checkup from the neck up – are you striving for holiness? Like, really being set apart by God, for God, and through Christ, in God? Ephesians 5:1 tells us to be imitators of God. As we walk through our daily lives, are we doing this? In our relationships with others, are we doing this? I hope you will consider your role and purpose this Easter, even as you consider the tremendous gift God gives us in giving His Son for us! Plug in to the many opportunities to serve, both here at the church and all around us, as we seek to make Christ known among the nations, and here at home, as you pursue Him!
Be holy, for I am holy.

Thank you all for your generous giving hearts. As we give so others can have a meal, well this just warms my heart. What we do give, no matter how Insignificant we think it might be, it’s just the right item that family, widowed, or homeless person needed. Always remember God loves a cheerful giver. Add some items to your grocery list every week, or every time you go to the store. Drop it/them in the specified totes so we can help bless others. Your sister in Christ , Cheryl
In March, ladies will enjoy a fun afternoon at the
Bedford Little Theatre.
