CLASSROOM BASED ASSESSMENT
All subjects will engage with a dual approach of formative & summative assessment. Each subject choose the same CBA.
Completed during 2nd Year and assessed using the 'Features of Quality'by the students' subject teacher & reported to student and teacher during PTM & in the JCPA. It is taken at common level and will be specified by the NCCA. It is to allow students to demonstrate their understanding of skills and concepts. Completed during class time.
Completed during 3rd Year and as above. CBA's will include assessment in a variety of activities; oral, written, practical or designing & making tasks, artistic performance, experiments, projects or other suitable task.
This is the written task based on the 2nd CBA. It is completed during class time. The AT requires the students to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have acquired through the completion of CBA 2. It is submitted and assessed by the SEC

CLASSROOM BASED ASSESSMENT DESCRIPTORS
The Features of Quality are the criteria that will be used to assess the student work. When using the Features of Quality to assess the level of
student achievement in a Classroom-Based Assessment, the teachers use an ‘on-balance’ judgement.
RACE students are still eligible for the accommodations granted to them during these CBA's.
Teachers give a provisional grade which are reviewed and finalised after the SLAR meeting. Final CBA result is recorded and reported to student and parent. This reporting should take place with the student during class. Reporting to parents could be completed at PTM or during Christmas/ Summer reports.
