The man on earth is a traveler seeking the fullness of his life. In other words, every man is searching for the truth, the mean-ing of his life, his happiness. To accomplish this purpose, he walks different paths: studying, working, forming a family, traveling the world. He thinks that the fruit of his intelligence, such as science and technology, or of his actions in the social and economic fields are the answer to his questions. But an inner restlessness of dissatisfaction remains. There are other solutions? Just to find an answer, some people are turning to the religions of the world and also, in particular, want to know Jesus. To “Seek Jesus” is already a grace, it opens the heart and mind to something different and new. Jesus’ answer is radical. He is to demonstrate and to give love. Man thinks he knows what it means to “love”, but he does not. True love must be put to the test. An “hour” comes in which you think if you love God or not, if you love the others or not. It is the hour of suffering, of pain, of the total surrender to yourselves. It is the hour of “death”, sometimes even physically. First, God himself, because he is Love, showed us. He sent Jesus to express his love to men living in darkness and bondage of their sins. After he had success with his preaching and his miracles, Jesus sees that his “hour” is coming, the moment to show to the Father and to men that he really loves everyone, including his enemies. Jesus enters into deeper combat of-fering “prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears to the one who is able to save him from death”, but finally he “dies” to himself, gives up his will and agrees to suffer and to do the will of the Father. This is the way to “glorify” the Father, to testify to the end that God is love. It is the an-swer for those who had doubts about God’s love. By dying on the cross Jesus shines the glory of God, manifested the love of God. This is the love that breaks down all barriers, which is addressed to every man, even to those who put him on the cross, to his enemies, that is all of us. He is the seed that dies to bear fruit; it will attract to itself every man. The resurrection will be the fruit of this death. The Father will give glory to his Son by raising him from the dead. Risen Jesus is the glory of God the Father who wants to dwell in our hearts. It is the offering of his mercy, of his new life, of true love. This love cannot be bought. You can receive it for free and freely. This love is the answer to your quest for happiness. Only this crucified love will fill your heart.
