OGA 2015: Fuelling the region’s oil and gas growthOver 2,000 companies from more than 50 countries under one roof. The 15th Asian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition, also known as Oil and Gas Asia (OGA) continues to be the must-attend event in the industry’s calendar.

Organized by the Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd (MES) about 2,000 companies from more than 50 countries in the oil and gas sector will gather under one roof to showcase their products and services from 2-4 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

This year OGA 2015 aims to serve as a crucial platform for exhibitors, trade visitors and delegates to meet, discuss and deliberate on the industry’s challenges and opportunities.

Since its inception, the OGA series has continued to highlight Malaysia’s strategic advantages as an oil and gas hub showcasing the latest

technology, equipment and machinery in the fields of oil, gas and petrochemical engineering.

OGA 2013 boasted a record-breaking attendance of 29,770 providing various opportunities for collaboration between government entities and private companies.

“One of the special features of this year’s show is the 5th Annual HSE Excellence Forum in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals, organized by Fleming Gulf Conferences, held alongside OGA 2015,” said Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, chairman of MES.

“We also look forward to hosting 16 dedicated international pavilions as part of the exhibition showcasing their respective technologies and services.”

Officiated by the Chairman of PETRONAS, Tan Sri Sidek Hassan, the opening ceremony will be held 2 June at 9.30am at the Plenary Theatre on Level 3 of KLCC, followed by a VIP tour of the exhibition.

Trelleborg displays subsea technologiesTrelleborg is showcasing its new T-Strake, a new vortex induced vibration (VIV) system, at this week’s OGA 2015.

T-Strake features a modular design enabling more efficient transportation and installation. The manufacturing process for T-Strake means they can be produced up to six times faster than systems manufactured using traditional techniques,

ensuring shorter lead times.“In increasingly rougher seas, pipelines unsupported over free spans are prone to VIV fatigue and this is a growing concern,” said Ajan Das, business development

manager within Trelleborg Offshore.“VIV can lead to serious issues such as pipe girth weld failure or premature pipe malfunction. As a result, Trelleborg designed T-Strake flowline protection to suppress the effects of these vibrations on pipes, avoiding damage and downtime.”Trelleborg is also presenting its subsea flow control solutions including its entire line of high performance Vikotherm insulation materials.
