Microsoft Office is alreadyon school Office andClassroom Computers

Office 365 offers Current Employees and Students Microsoft Office on up to 5 Personal Computers (Windows and/or Mac)

Office 365 Includes weband Mobile Versions ofWord, Excel, PowerPointand OneNote for Creatingand Editing Documents

Document Sharing andCollaboration requires theDocuments to be stored onOneDrive. Office 365 comeswith 1TB of OneDrive spaceand DropBox-style file sync.

Upon logging in to the Office 365portal, 9 web apps are availableby default: Yammer, OneDrive, SitesDelve, Video, Word Online, ExcelOnline, PowerPoint Online and OneNote Online.

While we can addlicensed apps to the portal, itis important to note thatMicrosoft may also add apps asthey are developed for Office 365.

Yammer is a social network(like Facebook) for privatenetworks (such as BA)which is integrated into 365for easy sharing of files andgroup discussions.

Sites are personal or groupblogs for sharing files and collaborating with others on,and off, campus. Sites canbe customized with surveys,calendars, task lists andshared file libraries.

Delve is a dashboard whichuses a ‘card-based’ interface(like Pinterest) to highlight,when shared files were lastedited and by whom as wellas recent posts in your Sites.

Video is a space for sharingVideo files with others (likeYouTube). Videos can betagged for relevance and integrated into Yammer andother Office 365 apps.

While Yammer, Sites, Delve and Video arevaluable resources, the focus of thisdemonstration today will be on the majorapplications offered in Office 365: WordOnline, Excel Online, PowerPoint Online, OneNote Online and OneDrive.

Is there more training?

Technical Services has a Office 365 webpage with links to Office 365 tutorials and How To Video’s.

Do I have install something on my computer at work to use Office 365?

No, school computers already have Microsoft Office installed on them. To use Office 365 you simply use your school email account ( username@berwickacademy.co.uk ) and school password to log in.

What can I store on this Space, the cloud?

Microsoft OneDrive is file storage space on a Microsoft server. You may store any type of files on your OneDrive space.(i.e. zip files, audio files, video files, PDFs, etc.)Not just Microsoft Office documents (.docx, .xlsx, etc.).

Please note that OneDrive space is not backed up (by Microsoft or Berwick Academy) and thus, any files deleted from OneDrive are NOT recoverable.

Who may use Office 365?

Office 365 at Berwick Academy is for current employees and students.

If I share a document can I get back to my original version?

Yes, under the Manage is Version History which gives you the ability to restore to a specific version on a specific date.
