Westlake. Please arrive by 7:15, meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Notes from February meeting called to order at 7:30 Range Report: The range is in good shape, but there are a lot of maintenance jobs that need to be done on the Work Day, which is scheduled for February 7th. Treasurer’s report: The checkbook balance and the New Range Fund will no longer be published in the newsletter. Total disbursements in December were $317 with income of $247. Members are welcome to view and/or obtain a copy of these figures at any meeting. Match Reports:

• The Bullseye Discipline did not hold a match. The first match of 2015 will be in March. • The Rifle Discipline will hold its first match of 2015 on February 22. • The Action Pistol Discipline held its first match of the year on January 17th with 8

Meeting Discussions: • Sweetlake Land and Oil, LLC has authorized the Club to relocate the entrance road off of

Old Camp Road with some provisions. The old road must be gated off and abandoned. We must meet any parish requirements and the drainage must be done properly. The Club has received three bids and the Board will be discussing the bids in the near future.

• The following committees will report in March and election will take place in April. o Dues Committee: George Mowbray, Mike Guillot, John Texada, Ron Wisdom o Nomination Committee: Gary Shult, Riley Belile, Stan Francis

• There will be a work day on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 7:00 am until mid-day. The Club needs your help! See the list under “Announcements” in this newsletter.

• The new website is up and running. The address remains www.swla-rifleandpistol.org. We now have a “Join the NRA” link on our site. Joining or renewing via this link offers a discounted price and the Club gets a small commission from the NRA.

• The Club is enforcing the requirement that all members also be members of the NRA. • The Club currently has about 300 email addresses on file. 21 emailed newsletters were

not delivered last month, with most being blocked. Please see the notice on the website if you have not been receiving emailed newsletters from the Club for instructions.

• Jim Ely reminded the members present that “Pay in May or Cry in July” is coming up. A question was raised concerning whether members joining shortly before the renewal date can go ahead and pay the coming year’s dues along with the pro-rated dues. There is no present mechanism for that, but the Board will discuss it.

• Mike Guillot clarified that pistol shooters are allowed to use the Rifle Range, BUT please do not shoot short range targets on the Rifle Range as the bullets will strike the ground and potentially skip over the berm, leaving our property. All shots on all ranges are supposed to be directed so as to impact the berms.

• Jim Ely reminded the members of the Swap Meet that follows all meetings. Meeting was adjourned at 8:01 p.m. Announcements:

• Swap Meet: A reminder that members are encouraged to bring items for sale or trade to each meeting. While our meetings are held in a firearm-friendly facility, please ensure all firearms are UNLOADED and CASED.

• Range Schedule: o Each year we work hard to publish a Match Schedule for the coming calendar

year as early as we can. Because of many factors, it’s sometimes necessary to revise the schedule during the year. Always check the website for the latest revision of the Range Schedule before planning your Range trip. We will always work to keep the latest schedule as accurately as possible on the website at swla-rifleandpistol.org and posted at the Range.

• Work Day was held on February 7, 2015 from daylight until noon. We had a good turnout of 30 people, including some spouses and children. We accomplished a tremendous amount of work and every project on our list. A big thank you to those who came out and donated several hours to our Club.
