Holcomb/Hill property rezoning

This parcel of land is located in the south Oxford city limits. It has frontage on Chambers Rd and Old Taylor Rd. It adjoins Whirlpool Corporation on the west, H\ry 6 Bypass on the north and University Commons on the east. The south half of the propcny adjoins Whirlpool Corporation on the west and Old Taylor Rd. across from Shiloh Place on the south and cast.

This area was zoned agricultural in the initial zoning. Later in 1980 it was rezoned (I) Industria1. Then in 1981 it was rezoned (SC) Shopping Center. In 1989 part of it was rezoned (RC) MultiFamily Residential and Old Taylor Place was built. In 1993 another part was rezoned RC and University Commons was constructed. In 1996 Shiloh Place was started. Th.is particular piece of property is totally surrounded by Industrial zoning on one side and RC on the other. Therefore the area is dominated by RC zoning. The University of Mississippi has designed their entrance at Old Taylor Rd. as their main off campus entry which combined with access to the major ancry Hwy 6 Bypass should place automobile traffic in an ideal location for the city and University. I, the engineers, architect, and staff ofDincrstcin Companies have met with city officiaJs on 5 separate occasions to better coordinate our etions. It appears that installing new sewer lines, combining our efforts with those of the city, would help to aJleviatc a long standing problem with Waste Management.

The Dinerstcin Companies has a long docwncnted record of giving back to tJte communj1y. We ask that you welcome Dinerstein Companies to Oxford, MS.

We look fonvard to your favorable recommendation to rezone this property Wm:n from SC to RC.
