Both the Adult and the Junior Club nights have become a popular

feature in the Club social life.

The Adults play on a Friday night from 7.30 – 9.30pm led by Coach

John Hales. There are regularly 12 – 16 players each week. It is free

and exclusive for members of the Club and it is usually followed by

drinks at the Varsity pub.

However, on the first Friday of each month this session is open to non-

members at a fee of £9.00.

There is also a social play session for Adults on a Sunday morning from

10.30 – 12.30. However, this is not led by a Coach. Once again it is

free for members and open to non-members on the first Sunday of

each month at a fee of £9.00.

John is very keen to develop a team practice for the Adults with a

view to entering a couple of teams into local leagues next year.

Please speak to him if you are interested in becoming involved with

this.

The Junior Club Night is led by Penny Harris and is held on Friday

evenings from 5.30 – 7.30pm. The aim of this evening is to give

players aged between 10 and 16 years of age the opportunity to

play singles and doubles socially under supervision. We are regularly

getting 10 – 12 players each Friday. This is free for Club members and

£3.00 per session for non-club members. This session is currently open

to non-club members each week.

Penny said: “I would love the Friday evenings to develop into a really sociable tennis evening for both Adults and Juniors. We will be developing the Junior Tennis into social outings and occasions. We are looking for any interested people to volunteer to run the social side of the Adult and Junior Sections. So please, if you are an active player and would like to do more or if you are a parent and would like to be more involved, contact me on 02476 150687.”

JUNIOR JUNIOR JUNIOR JUNIOR HOLIDAY CAMPSHOLIDAY CAMPSHOLIDAY CAMPSHOLIDAY CAMPS

The Junior Camps this year proved to be a great success. We combined with the Bear

Climbing Rock so children had an action packed day with Climbing in the mornings and

Tennis in the afternoons. Approximately 100 children attended the three weeks of Climbing

and Tennis holiday camps. In addition to these camps, there were also three Mini Tennis

Camps held at the Tennis Centre.
