STEP ONE:CREATE ONE GOAL FOR THE
INDICATOR YOU CHOSE THAT NEEDED OUR ATTENTION
DEFINITION: brief statement reflecting an end result or desired condition you want to achieve
ACADEMIC GOAL: All students will be proficient in mathematics
ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL: To enhance our physical facilities in order to support more effectively the various
programs of BCPS district
![Page 6: October 25, 2013. Rock, Paper,Scissors Ms. Constance Lade.](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022032708/56649e735503460f94b7226f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
STEP TWO:
CREATE OBJECTIVE(S) FOR THE GOAL
DEFINITION: It defines what will be achieved, how success will be measured, when it will be achieved. ASK: What will be achieved? When this objective is
complete, what will be the outcome?
ACADEMIC GOAL OBJECTIVE: Collaborate to decrease the overall achievement gap to 19% by 3/14/2013 as
measured by the school report card.ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL OBJECTIVE: To update the
physical facility of BCPS to accommodate the projected programs of the organization and its services to the
community.

STEP THREE:CREATE STRATEGY(IES) FOR
THE GOALDEFINITION: action that is specific, planned, evidence-
based & focused on student results…the “HOW” to achieve the objective and/or goal
ACADEMIC GOAL STRATEGY: Staff will implement appropriate non-linguistic representation tools to
increase the mathematical critical thinking abilities of all students including Hispanics and Students with
Disabilities.ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL STRATEGY: (1) Complete an
architectural study with confirmed costs for a new building by 6-30-14
(2) Complete a financial feasibility study with realistic projections for capital giving by 9-30-14
![Page 9: October 25, 2013. Rock, Paper,Scissors Ms. Constance Lade.](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022032708/56649e735503460f94b7226f/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)

STEP FOUR:CREATE ACTIVITY(IES) FOR
THE GOALDEFINITION: Steps, timelines, resource allocations, staff
responsible & defined activity type (professional development, direct instruction, community engagement,
etc)
ACADEMIC GOAL ACTIVITY: Monitor the implementation of the instructional strategies through walk-thrus &
program fidelity checks. 1/5/11 – 5/10/12. $0. Principal, Literacy Coach, Other.
ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL ACTIVITIES: (1)Appoint building sub-committee by 4-15; letter of request to architects. (2)
Review responses from architectural firms, make procedural decision by 5-15. - (1) Appoint feasibility sub-
committee by 5-15; letter of request to consultants. (2) Review responses, schedule appointments for interview
by 6-15

FINAL STEP:USE THESE INDICATORS
FOR YOUR GOAL
Purpose & Direction Committee Indicator 1.4 [The school’s leadership implements a continuous
improvement process that provides clear direction for improving conditions that support student learning.] This is the area we’d
like to focus on as a place to grow. Even though stakeholder involvement has improved, we would like to see increased
stakeholder representation, involvement, and feedback in our school improvement process.
Governance & Leadership Committee Indicator 2.4 = 2.5 (EMERGING) [Leadership and staff foster a culture consistent with the school’s purpose and direction.]
Evidence: we think leaders and staff as a whole work towards continuous improvement, but there are a few staff members who
might not be focused on improvement, not on board with “continuous improvement.” All students are not held
accountable.
![Page 14: October 25, 2013. Rock, Paper,Scissors Ms. Constance Lade.](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022032708/56649e735503460f94b7226f/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Teaching and Assessing for Learning Committee Indicator 3.7 = 2 (EMERGING) [Mentoring, coaching, and
induction programs support instructional improvement consistent with the school’s values and beliefs about teaching
and learning.]Evidence: Only “some” personnel are engaged in mentoring;
there aren’t guidelines/expectations’/measures of performance; some descriptions and schedules of mentoring, coaching and
induction programs with references to school beliefs and values about teaching and learning in secondary; learning calendar with
activities for instructional support of new staff at beginning of school year (one day); personnel manuals with information
related to new hires including mentoring, coaching, and induction practices (packet given at new teacher inservice)
Resources and Support Systems Committee Indicator 4.4 = 2 (EMERGING) [Students and school personnel
use a range of media and information resources to support the school’s educational programs.]
![Page 15: October 25, 2013. Rock, Paper,Scissors Ms. Constance Lade.](https://reader030.fdocuments.us/reader030/viewer/2022032708/56649e735503460f94b7226f/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Using Results for Continuous Improvement Committee
Indicator 5.5 = 2.5 (EMERGING) [Leadership monitors and communicates comprehensive information about student
learning, conditions that support student learning, and the achievement of school improvement goals to stakeholders.]
Evidence: Need cross-curricular buy-in and communication of
achievement goals’ all - staff need to respect each other’s knowledge and experiences; be willing to allow collaboration
among staff members; not just core areas but all staff (integration of vocational and academic program)
ILCD Committee
Your goal must center around improving literacy for all SPED students
