SOFTWARE DESCRIPTION
The Carrier Electronic Catalog Suite automatically installs all Carrier Electronic Catalog (E-CAT) programs using asingle installation file. This is an alternative to downloading and installing individual E-CAT programs one by one.
The October 5, 2012 Electronic Catalog Suite release automatically installs the following programs:

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
Installation via Internet Download Download the ecat-cec20121005.exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Note
that the download file is large and a fast internet connection is necessary to efficiently download this file. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-cec20121005.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note AutoDesk Volo View Express® must also be installed for certain E-CAT programs to function correctly.
AutoDesk Volo View Express® can be downloaded from the internet site.
Installation via E-CAT CD Insert the E-CAT CD-ROM in your CD drive. On most computers, the software installation will start automatically. If it does not, double click the setup.exe
file in the root folder of the CD to launch installation. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen. Note AutoDesk Volo View Express® must also be installed for certain E-CAT programs to function correctly.
The AutoDesk Volo View Express® installer can be found in the \VoloView folder on the CD.
Running the ProgramUse the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click Carrier Electronic Catalog v1.05b. From Electronic Catalog
you can run all other E-CAT programs.
Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: Up to 556 megabytes when installing software for the first time. The hard disk space
requirement is much smaller when updating existing versions of the software. Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. Autodesk Volo View Express®

Note: Certain E-CAT programs require you to install the current version of Autodesk Volo View Express®programs. This program can be downloaded from the E-CAT download table on the internet site. Volo ViewExpress® (copyright Autodesk, Inc.) is freely distributed by Autodesk, Inc. as its drawing viewer. Any redistributionof Volo View Express® must be in compliance with the Software License Agreement that is displayed during theVolo View Express® installation.
PREVIOUS VERSION INFORMATION
If your computer contains the prior versions of the Carrier E-CAT programs, the E-CAT Suite will automaticallyreplace the prior version when installed. As a result it is not necessary for you to uninstall the prior version beforeinstalling the E-CAT Suite. Exceptions only exist for a major version change or a new program and in that case theprior version can be uninstalled before or after installing the E-CAT Suite.
In the October 5 Customer Suite all releases are minor version updates.
NOTES
1. Release Sheets. Release sheets for individual Electronic Catalog programs are found in the "E-CAT ProductSelection Programs" down load table on the internet site. These sheets describe new program features.
2. Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Acrobat Reader v4.05 or later is required to view certified drawings in certain E-CATprograms. If Acrobat Reader is not yet installed on your computer, the latest version can be downloaded fromwww.adobe.com/products/acrobat and then installed.

X Builder Framework v1.05b replaces v1.05a
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
X Builder Framework provides common features for most Electronic Catalog and E20 II programs. It can also beused as a central launch portal for all Electronic Catalog software. The software appears as "Carrier ElectronicCatalog" on the Start/Programs Menu.
If you launch the X Builder Framework from the “Carrier Electronic Catalog” icon on the Start Menu you can makebest use of these common features. For example, you can configure any Tag in an existing ECAT Project simply bydouble-clicking the Tag on the Project tree, or create any kind of new Tag in the Project by clicking the New Tagbutton.
X Builder v1.05b includes the following changes: Error messages appearing when a Builder fails to start have been improved to add more information about the
problem that occurred and required corrective action.
In addition, the following problems have been corrected: When the % airflow option was used to enter outdoor airflow in the mixed air calculator, it did not save the
decimal portion of the airflow. For example 20.5% was saved as 20%. As a result mixed air calculation resultswere incorrect.
In certain situations when starting X Builder an “Error in routine:Function IsValidDLL” error message appearedand prevented startup. For most situations this error will no longer occur.
Please refer to the X Builder Support Notes in the Software/Program Downloads section of the web site, or fromCarrier Electronic Catalog’s “Welcome” screen for more information.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
Installation via Internet DownloadIf one of the X Builder Framework versions 1.03 thru 1.05a is installed on your computer, you can save time byinstalling a patch update. This is the first procedure below. Otherwise, a full program installation is required. This isthe second procedure below.
To perform a patch install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecatp-xbf105b.exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecatp-xbf105b.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions that appear on your screen.
To perform a full program install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecat-xbf105b.exe file from the internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Close any other programs running on your desktop computer. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-xbf105b.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions, which appear on your screen. After installation you may be asked to reboot.
Running the Program
Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click on the Carrier Electronic Catalog v1.05b icon.

AHUBuilder v6.24 includes the following change: Added coil connections on the drawings for indoor horizontal 39S units (39SH).
In addition the following problems were corrected: When performing heating calculations for a cooling coil, an error message "heating capacity cannot be met" was
incorrectly displayed. When performing cooling calculations for a hating coil, an error message "cooling capacity cannot be met" was
incorrectly displayed. Weights for 39M and 39S Certified Drawings were shown in lbs. instead of in kg when the units of measure were
Metric. Under certain conditions, 39M DX coil calculations would display the error "Division by zero". Under certain conditions, 39S Steam coil calculations would display the error "Subscript out of Range".

Catalog you can create new or edit existing tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launch the program via thePrograms tab.

UPDATE DESCRIPTION
Air Terminal Builder v2.06 corrects the following problems: When the Performance Summary, Unit Report or Acoustic Report was generated, error messages appeared
embedded in the report text. This made the report unreadable. For 35E single duct terminals with round outlet factory option, the outlet dimensions were incorrectly displayed
on the Performance Summary report as rectangular dimensions. For 35E single duct terminals, the description for AUD0 and AUE0 controllers/actuator were incorrect.

Applied RTU Builder v3.09q replaces v3.09p.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Applied RTU Builder v3.09q corrects the following problems: For P series units with high capacity power exhaust selected an invalid part number was generated. This error
resulted in quotes for these units not being approved in SAP. In the Performance Summary Report, the power exhaust fan curve displayed an incorrect maximum hp value. The minimum allowable airflow for P series size 090 was incorrect. It was shown as 17,000 CFM instead of
18,000 CFM. This error caused performance calculations to fail airflow was set to a value less than 18,000 CFM.

Commercial Split Systems Builder v1.28 includes the following changes: Added specification of separate voltages for 208V-60Hz or 230V-60Hz. Electrical data on the Performance
Report will be for the selected voltage, except for 38AP, 38AH and 38AKS models where combined 208V/230Velectrical data is still shown.
Added an informative message on the Design Criteria tab for 38AH and 38AKS models indicating the maximumlinear separation and vertical liquid lift.
Added a note stating the indoor unit drive range to the Performance Summary report. Added an Advanced Acoustical Analysis feature to analyze acoustic performance when barriers or reflective

UPDATE DESCRIPTION
Fan Coil Builder v4.02 the includes changes: Added 42SM mega furred-in stack unit designed for applications requiring units with increased capacity. Enhanced the Performance Report and Acoustic Report by adding discharge sound power acoustic data for
certain models Enhanced the Equipment Schedule report to include all the items displayed in the Tag Grid. This report is
displayed in a spreadsheet format. Enhanced the Tag Grid to automatically validate tags. This eliminates the need to open each tag individually to
make it valid and makes using the grid feature significantly more efficient for users.
In addition the following problems were corrected in v4.01: For certain fan coil units, the unit dimensions displayed on the Unit Report were incorrect. When a tag contained warranties and that tag was modified using the Tag Grid, the program incorrectly removed
all warranties from the tag.

3. Tags in existing projects created with Fan Coil Builder v3.39g or earlier versions can be used in v4.02, howevertags in these projects must be converted before they can be used with v4.02. To convert the tags, use thefollowing steps: Start Fan Coil Builder v4.02. Choose the "Convert Project" item on the File Menu. A window will appear listing all current projects that contain v3.30 through 3.39g tags. Select all projects
whose tags you wish to convert. Then press OK. Tags in the selected projects will be converted. When you are returned to the program main window, the tags are ready for use with v4.02.
This conversion process has been tested with version 3.39g. Conversion of prior version tags is not guaranteed,but the more recent the tag, the better its chance of successful conversion. If you encounter problems with anearlier tag, you can first run Fan Coil Builder v3.39g, select a project in the project tree on the left and then clickthe "Update All Tags" button at the bottom of the right hand panel this converts the data to v3.39g compatibility.Then convert the tags to v4.00 using the bullets above.
4. Fan Coil Builder v4.02 will not replace v3.39g automatically. Version 3.39g must be uninstalled separatelyusing the following procedure: Start Electronic Catalog. In the main window click the Programs tab. Highlight Fan Coil Builder v3.3 in the tree on the left. Then click the "Remove Program" button in the right-hand panel.

1. XBuilder. The latest version of XBuilder Framework should be installed before installing Fan Coil Builder.

Induction Terminal Builder v1.02 replaces v1.01
UPDATE DESCRIPTION
Induction Terminal Builder v1.02 includes the following changes: Added the 36CB Chilled Beam products which were previously offered in the Air Terminal Builder. All
selections for this model must be done using this builder. Added the 36R/S/T Induction Unit products which were previously offered in the Air Terminal Builder. All
selections for this model must be done using this builder. Added a new toolbar button which can be used to display tags in the Tag Grid where you can quickly view and
modify the tags. Updated the What’s This help items for the base unit model and factory options tabs were.
In addition, the following problem was corrected: The certified drawings for 36IB, Induction Terminal with 4 way Narrow discharge style for sizes 48x12 and
48x24 were incorrect. The drawings were switched so the 48x12 was displayed for the 48x24 and vice versa. On the design criteria tab for the 36IB, Induction Terminal models, the Airflow per Person was shown as the
default selection instead of Primary Airflow. On the Equipment Schedule report, when running in SI Metric units, data was incorrectly displayed in English
units.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES
Installation via Internet Download
To perform a full install, please use the following procedure: Download the ecat-cbb102.exe file from the Internet site and save it in a folder on your hard disk. Run Windows Explorer and double-click on the ecat-cbb102.exe file. This launches the program installer. Follow the installation instructions which appear on your screen. Note that X Builder Framework v1.04w should be installed prior to installing Induction Terminal Builder. It can
be downloaded from the internet site.
Running the ProgramCarrier Electronic Catalog can be used to launch Induction Terminal Builder. To start Electronic Catalog: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT and E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT and E20-II Programs group choose the Carrier Electronic Catalog item. From Electronic
Catalog you can create new or edit existing induction terminal tags via the Project tab, or you can directly launchthe program via the Programs tab.
Minimum Computer Requirements:

Packaged RTU Builder v1.30 includes the following changes Added a message to the Factory Options tab of the configurator to warn users selecting a unit for 50hz applications
that PremierLink controls operate only in English language and support SI Metric and Inch-Pound units, and thatRTU Open controls operate only in English language and Inch-Pound units. The same warning message was addedto the Performance Summary report.
Added 2 speed indoor fan motor option and HumidiMizer options for 48/50 HCX EnergyX models. Added 48/50HCX size 11 (12 EER) with 2 speed indoor fan motor option. Added unit operating weight data for 50TC export models. Reinstated the ComfortLink and 2-speed indoor fan motor options for 48/50HC units. The factory installed option,
HumidiMizer, was also made available with 2 speed indoor fan motor option. Removed available blanket quote controls from 50TCQ size 14 and 50HCQ size 12.
In addition the following problems were corrected: For 50TCQ 17 to 25 ton units, the coil option descriptions which appear on the Factor Options tab and the extended
descriptions appearing in QuoteBuilder were incomplete. The text only described material for one coil. Roof curb certified drawings for 48/50 HCX with EnergyX were not included in the submittal drawings. For 48/50LC 3 to 5 ton units, 48/50HC 3 to 12.5 ton units, and 50HCQ 3 to 10 ton units, the HACR Circuit Breaker
option was incorrectly offered when MOCP electrical rating exceeded 100 amps at 208/230V, 90amps at 460V and70 amps at 575V.
For 48/50HC 15 to 25 ton units, the HACR Circuit Breaker option was incorrectly offered when MOCP electricrating exceeded 200 amps at 208/230V, 90 amps at 460V and 90 amps at 575V.

SCU Builder v2.09t replaces v2.09s
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
SCU Builder v2.09t includes the following changes: Updated the 50XJ model line with new configuration options, drawings and R410a refrigerant performance. The performance data for the 50XCR16 unit is now matched to the 09XC24 remote condensing unit. Upgraded the Mixed Air Calculator feature to save inputs from any previous mixed air calculation (in each Tag).
The stored inputs are restored for any recalculation, so you only have to revise inputs as necessary rather thanentering all the outside air and return air data all over again.
In addition, the following problems were corrected: When 50XCA or 50AH air-cooled self-contained units were selected via the selection wizard, the Factory
Options tab would display as invalid until the tag was reloaded. Unit Sizes for the 50XCW model line were not sorted in increasing order of size.

Running the ProgramUse the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group choose Individual Product Builders. In the Individual Product Builders group click on the SCU Builder v2.09t item.

5. VoloView. VoloView v2000-129 or later is required to view template drawings from within Commercial SplitSystems Builder. If this software has not yet been installed on your computer, you can do so by runningWindows Explorer, navigating to the \VOLO_NEW folder on the E-CAT CD and then double-clicking on theVVE2SETUP.EXE file. WSHP Builder v5.02 replaces v5.01
UPDATE DESCRIPTION
WSHP Builder v5.02 includes the following changes: Added a convenient means of switching to multi-tag grid view via a button on the Project Properties screen and
on the X Builder toolbar. Previously the Grid View could only be displayed by clicking the Tags node in theProject tree.
Added a secondary circulation pump option for 50PEC and 50RTP models. Upgraded the Mixed Air Calculator feature to save inputs from any previous mixed air calculation (in each Tag).
The stored inputs are restored for any recalculation, so you only have to revise inputs as necessary rather thanentering all the outside air and return air data all over again.
Updated electrical data for 50PEC units. Changed stainless steel drain pan to a standard option for 50VQP Export (50 Hz) units. Tags in existing projects
which include the stainless steel drain pan factory option will update their part numbers to indicate the standarddrain pan (now stainless steel) is used when existing projects are converted for v5.02.
In addition, the following problems have been fixed in this release: 50HQP models were incorrectly labeled as single-stage. They are 2-stage units. Unit Tags from the previous version failed to update to the latest version when loaded into the Grid.

the Water Source Heat Pump Builder. Both can be downloaded from the internet site.
Running the Program
Use the following procedure to run the program: From the Windows desktop press Start, choose Programs and then choose Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs. In the Carrier E-CAT/E20-II Programs group click on the Individual Product Builders icon. In the Individual Product Builders group click on the WSHP Builder v5.02 icon.
Minimum Computer Requirements: Hard Disk Space: 20 megabytes Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. The current X Builder Framework should be installed prior to installing WSHP Builder.
