Themes such as hybridity, exoticism, regionalism, and diplomacy in art will be explored, in addition to discussing globalization and look- ing at both land and maritime Silk Road routes in relation to paintings, sculpture, petroglyphs, architecture, and textile arts of Asia, Central Europe, and the Mediterranean during the 2nd century BCE through the 14th century. Learn about the vibrant art and culture transmitted through the trade route known as the Silk Road, which connected West and East for more than 15 centuries.
