Welcome to Week 10 Newsletter! T - Trust. I trust you enjoyed the holiday break with your children and that they are happy being back at school and back into the flow of learning. This term is a very productive one; a term to grow their talents! Whether it be in delivering a speech, running in the cross country or performing in the Arts Splash evening that is coming up in week 6. Or maybe it’ll be in the Mini Meez basketball for our juniors? Or learning and progressing well at school. I hope there is something for everyone. I - Inspired. I have been inspired and in the learning pit too; understanding and working the new Seesaw app that we are now using at school. This is an amazing opportunity for you all to connect with your child “live” and see what wonderful learning and growing they are doing in the classroom. The information sheet went out on Monday and Mrs. Priestly, our Seesaw Guru, has kindly posted the tips onto our Facebook group. This is a great way to connect to your child’s learning, get information and feel part of their journey here at school. Do ask questions if you are at all stuck. I know a few of you still need to download the app (the teachers can see who has logged in and are connected) so let’s make an effort and be part of something great! G - Grateful. I am extremely grateful to Mel Leatuafi and Amy Perez for the great coaching in helping our NVS Shooters team win in their grade at netball this season. It takes a lot of dedication and commitment and we’re so proud of what our netballers accomplished. This is impressive since this is the second year in a row the team has performed so well and are champs! A shout out also to our other netball coaches and supporters, Nelly Ruki and Kristina Hardisty, thank you for your time and support for our girls every Saturday morning! F - Fun. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone this term, with so many events on, I hope you will be able to take time out and come along and be part of the learning!
Piki te ora (May your spirit be uplifted). Maria and NVS staff.

This week the Kiwi Team have been so excited to welcome three new children to Kōwhai class as well as some children moving from Kōwhai into Kahikatea. We have really gotten into our quest exploring old bones, digging in the sand for
dinosaurs and fossils, as well as making dinosaur puppets. We have also started training for our cross country. In Writing we are finishing our explanations about the life cycle of a butterfly. We are also really excited to start using Seesaw so please keep an eye out on Seesaw to be able to connect with your child's learning in the classroom.
What did the nut say when it was chasing the other nut? I’m a cashew bro! Tui Team welcomes you all back to Term 3! We hope you had a wonderful break and are ready for a jam-packed, fun-
filled term! We welcome Miss Sinclair into Tawa Class for the first 3 weeks until Miss Gow gets back from her overseas adventure. A small reminder that for homework for weeks 1-3, students will be writing and practicing their speeches for the first round in week 4! Good luck to everyone!
Welcome back to term 3 in Moa Team! On Friday, the students will be participating in Buddy Clubs - a club of their choosing which they will be involved with for the term. We’ve also introduced the awesome Seesaw app. Seesaw
gives our kids the chance to upload their best learning and share it with friends and family! You will have received log-in details in a letter earlier in the week. Please follow the instructions to sign up and view your child’s learning online, you can even make comments! We have begun Cross Country training, so there will be runs each day for all students as we prepare for the NVS and Interschool Cross Country later in the term. Term 3 is also our Speech competition. All students are expected to make and deliver a speech, this is part of homework for the first half of the term. We are also excited about Arts Splash which will be happening in week 6. The Elite Kapa Haka team will be off to Tuwharetoa as well! Finally, our Year 6 students are also off to camp in Taupō at the end of the term!
