Full-Speed USB Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter SeriesIndustry’s Fastest UART Series with USB 2.0 Compliant Bus InterfaceThe XR21V1410 (V1410), XR21V1412 (V1412), and XR21V1414 (V1414) are enhanced 1-channel, 2-channel and 4-channel Universal Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter (UART) with a USB interface. The USB interface is fully compliant to Full Speed USB 2.0 specification that supports 12 Mbps USB data transfer rate.

The USB interface also supports USB suspend, resume and remote wakeup operations. The V141x operates from an internal 48MHz clock therefore no external crystal/oscillator is required like previous generation UARTs. With the fractional baud rate generator, any baud rate can accurately be generated using the internal 48MHz clock. The large 128-byte TX FIFO and 384-byte RX FIFO of the V141x helps to optimize the overall data throughput for various applications. The Automatic Transceiver Direction control feature simplifies both the hardware and software for half-duplex RS-485 applications. The multidrop (9-bit) mode with automatic half-duplex transceiver control feature further simplifies typical multidrop RS-485 applications.

The V141x operates from a single 2.97 to 3.63 volt power supply and has 5V tolerant inputs. Virtual COM port drivers for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and CE, as well as Linux and Mac are supported for the XR21V1410, XR21V1412 and XR21V1414.

LT3758 - High Input Voltage, Boost, Flyback, SEPIC and Inverting Controller100V Input DC/DC Controller Generates Positive or Negative Regulated OutputThe LT3758 is a wide input range, current mode, DC/DC controller which is capable of generating either positive or negative output voltages. It can be configured as either a boost, flyback, SEPIC or inverting converter. The LT3758 drives a low side external N-channel power MOSFET from an internal regulated 7.2V supply. The fixed frequency, current-mode architecture results in stable operation over a wide range of supply and output voltages.

The operating frequency of LT3758 can be set with an external resistor over a 100kHz to 1MHz range, and can be synchronized to an external clock using the SYNC pin. A minimum operating supply voltage of 5.5V, and a low shutdown quiescent current of less than 1μA, make the LT3758 ideally suited for battery-powered systems.

The LT3758 features soft-start and frequency foldback functions to limit inductor current during start-up and output short-circuit.

The device is available in a small 10-lead DFN (3mm × 3mm) or MSOPE package.

MIC38150 HELDO™ 1.5A High Efficiency Low Dropout Regulator (HELDO)

The MIC38150 is a 1.5A continuous output current step down converter. This is a follow-on device to the MIC38300 in Micrel’s new generation of HELDO™ power management devices. The HELDO™ family provides the benefits of LDOs with respect to ease of use, fast transient performance, high PSRR and low noise while offering the efficiency of a switching regulator.

As output voltages move lower, the output noise and transient response of a switching regulator become an increasing challenge for designers. By combining a switcher whose output is slaved to the input of a high performance LDO, high efficiency is achieved with a clean low noise output. The MIC38150 is designed to provide less than 5mV of peak-to-peak noise and more than 70dB of PSRR at 1kHz. Furthermore, the architecture of the MIC38150 is optimized for fast load transients allowing the output to maintain less than 30mV of output voltage deviation even during ultra-fast load steps. This makes the MIC38150 an ideal choice for low voltage ASICs and other digital ICs.

The MIC38150 features a fully integrated switching regulator and LDO combination, operates with input voltages from 3.0V to 5.5V input and offers adjustable output voltages down to 1.0V. The MIC38150 is offered in a small 28-pin 4mm x 6mm x 0.9mm MLF® package and can operate from -40°C to +125°C.

LGA C-Series High Density Non-Isolated Board-Mount Power ConvertersSmall - Reliable - EfficientCONVENIENT DESIGNThe LGA C-Series high-density power converters are packaged in a 16.26 x 16.26 mm outline and utilize an identical footprint for all models (3A, 6A, 10A and 20A) that provides designers a convenient power migration path as system requirements change. The power converter’s ultra compact Land Grid Array (LGA) packaging enables a uniform, low profile form factor ideal for space restricted boards. The LGA C-Series can be mounted on either side of many circuit boards and offers designers an opportunity to employ a variety of conductive cooling techniques via either surface.

BEST-IN-CLASS FEATURESFully equipped with a variety of best-in-class features including under-voltage lockout, differential remote sense, power good signal, output margining and short-circuit protection, the LGA C-Series ensures a high power reliable unit at a competitive price point.

MINIMAL OUTPUT DERATINGThe LGA C-Series delivers high efficiency of 92%, typical at full load under nominal conditions. Its ultra compact packaging and low profile construction allows for bilateral heat transfer and low apparent net thermal resistance once mounted on a typical circuit board. These enable the LGA modules to operate up to 85 °C max ambient temperature with almost no derating on the output for most versions. Various external heatsink accessories are also available if extended temperature operations are desired.

REDUCING MODULE TYPESWith a wide adjustable output range from 0.59 to 5.1 Vdc through external resistor trimming, the LGA C-Series reduces the number of module types needed to support multiple applications.

VersaClock™ III Programmable ClocksMulti purpose clock provides many solutions including cost savings, reduced board space and greatly increased versatility VersaClock™ products allow designers to save board space and cost by replacing crystals, oscillators and buffers with a single timing device. Exceptional versatility and configurability allow for maximum freedom in the design process.

There are four internal PLLs, each individually programmable, allowing for up to seven unique frequencies. These frequencies are generated from a single reference clock, which can come from one of two redundant clock inputs. A glitchless automatic or manual switchover function allows the redundant clock to be selected during normal operation.

VersaClock devices are highly configurable and can be programmed through the use of the I2C interface. The programming interface enables the device to be programmed when it is in normal operation. An internal EEPROM allows the user to save and restore the configuration of the device without having to reprogram it on power-up.

VersaClock products from IDT provide an almost universal solution for a variety of high performance clock applications. All Versaclock III product information, software, and support contact information can be found at: www.idt.com/go/versaclock3
